I see now that I have a single circuit booster and need the dual. With the expense involved with the booster and master I probably need to take a good look at a hydroboost conversion. I just worry about robbing Peter to pay Paul as the power steering is already weak.

So very true, next week the body will be on a rotisserie! I definitely want to keep this rig operational for now and not go too far down the rabbit hole all at once.
 
That is a early 1980's 4x4 pickup MC Kevin. Does your booster work? I keep the dual diaphram boosters and FJ60 and FJ80 MC's in stock and can hook you up if you want. You have my number :)
I think I would go with the FJ80 MC since you have the large rear calipers

@J Mack you saved the day with that tip. I got into the Maker's Mark then started on that gasket. I cut the inside lip off and the glass just rolled right out, it was a non-event. With the bourbon on board I just couldn't resist and went to town at the bondo job. I had to know what was under there and found out it's not great, but not terrible either. I do believe this is the worst of it, there is a spot on the driver's door and another on the fender, but nothing else that I know of. I sure could use some options to fix this. The most obvious to me would be find a donor FJ55 and cut the pieces out, but that is probably a long shot. Seems like a tough spot to fab patches for too. Part of me wants to just wire wheel the channel (which is in overall much better condition than I expected) hit it with rust converter, then some type of spray can epoxy primer and drop some new glass in for the time being. Half assed perhaps, but I am still waiting for the "gotcha" moment with this pig and want to put some miles on it to find out what it is really about. Heck I probably don't even need a windshield for the time being. I am all ears on suggestions.

Easy spot to patch and perfect place to practice with that new wire feed welder. Don't wait on this one....
The shinny spot is lead, melt that out with a propane torch first then sand down to clean metal. I would use 14 gauge right there and might make it in two pieces, let me know if you have trouble finding some small sheets of 14 gauge and I'll send you some.

No, I'm not currently planning this on either of the current, but given another three months to ponder the '76 while reprocessing title paperwork, guess anything is possible.... Have seen a few pics floating around the web, but didn't save. Saw these yesterday, thought it actually looked very...

Thanks for posting that link, some good stuff is in there. I found some other old pics too I will post up. This forum has lost some great people over the years. While I never met him Delancy was a huge contributor to the site. FJ40zen (Bob Paul) was my local Land Cruiser mentor when we lived in Colorado and passed away a few years ago too. Sad times.
