Erecting a sleeping platform. Decided to go with t slot to build the framing. I’ve never used the stuff before, but have wanted to try it out. I made a small order w McMaster-Carr for some sticks and assorted connectors. I’ll need more parts to get it where I want it, but this will give me a good amount of material to get started.

Great stuff... all kinds of cool hardware and accessories available for the manufacturing and production world. And you can motorize it with some position sensors to completely over engineer it.

The plan is to keep it simple. It’s going to be a dynamic set up that can be removed and or modified at will. Being able to attach and hang off it securely was a selling point. It’s also super light/strong and hopefully easy to assemble.

Being tall had got me a lot of benefits in my life, but sleeping in the back of a car was never one of them.

I was 2nd tallest on my high school basketball team. Later, doing radio coverage of the Phoenix Suns during their initial seasons, I realized that at 6’ 3” I’d barely qualify as a small guard in the NBA (height wise and for a whole bunch of talent-related reasons.)
