These shabby Dorman vacuum caps rot out after a year or two - is anyone aware of a place to get quality vinyl or vulcanized rubber caps that will last many years? I have unused TBI ports that must be plugged....

Thanks - Steve

Going OEM is always good. If you need various sizes:

You can also use heat shrink tubing. Leave some stickout and shrink it down until it is just a narrow tail, then close that end with your fingers. It will seal to itself.

Thanks to you all - some good ideas there. I had no idea Toyota sold stuff like this.

i'm cheap, made my own....just took some small cut pieces of quality vacuum hose and sealed one end with rtv
Good Idea, Not just cheap, but a sure way to avoid the junk that's out there.

X2 on the silicone caps from Amazon. I got a couple of variety packs. Too bad they are funny colors, but they do seal well and they last.

Those part numbers for the OE caps are gold, I'm going to have to put some on my next order. They pretty much last for ever, I'm using some that have been gathered from various spare carbs and such and they are just solid. The variety with the little tit on them plug two lines on the manifold of my T100 (for the auto trans option) they are 20 some years old now and look brand new.

I used to carry some vacuum caps in the glove box at all times in the sizes I needed, just in case the crap parts store ones went bad. For the small lines I had good luck with some vinyl? boots from the hardware store that were for putting on the end of an exposed screw. They were in the little boxes of odd bits in the bolt area you know. They worked good for lines you wanted capped off permanently.

It seems the cheap rubber parts you get at the typical parts store are quick to rot if they get any heavy gas fumes. Must be the ethanol in the fuel. I started using some hydraulic hose on the first leg of the PVC hose at the base of my carb. The 3/8 fuel line kept cracking and leaking there from fume degradation.
