This is a badass rig! One for my bucket list!

Time for an update. I've been tinkering with the LC on the weekends and sometimes leaving early from work during the weekdays. Nothing really worth posting because it hasn't been picture worthy.

Painted the windshield wipers, mirrors, whatever the door trim around the windows are called, and door handles Textured Dark Bronze (looks gun metal) spray paint; spot welded a little piece I've mocked up to seal the door jams of the rear doors.

Mounted the peddle with some help from @fourtrax.

Additionally, I put on the front bumper and sliders.

So I need to get a move on and get my s*** out of @fourtrax's yard. Thought this was going to be a 6 month project that's been over there for a yr. The things I need to do to make this happen is the shifter linkage, and re-building the front and rear axles.

I thought I was going to finish the shift linkage today, but got frustrated and had to leave it alone and go back to the drawing board. I want to copy how @thatcabledude did his, but I think our shift link backets on the transmission are different because I have a 4L80, and I think his is a 4L60. Shouldn't be too hard of a fix, but I was tired of messing with it at the moment.

Lastly, I haven't started the LC since the first time it started. So with my fingers crossed 🤞🏼 I started her up today. . . And she roared strong 💪 😁 with some nice chop.

Ah I forgot, I also bought the seal skin car cover so I no longer have to use that s***ty tarp that was on its last leg.

Not too much to show but a busy weekend. Pulled the rear axel for a rebuild, new parking brake, rotors, break calipers and pads, and new lower and upper control arms, and rear adjustable panhard bar.

Well. . It was all a chore. Brake calipers and parking brake dog bone rusted seized. Should have all part tomorrow afternoon excluding the dog bone mounting bracket. It's on back order at Toyota (just meaning it's not at thier Florida depo.) I'll see if they have an update tomorrow or just get it on eBay.

A few pics but not really showing much.

I also swapped out the OME's for Fox shocks ans Slee 4" springs. Additionally bolted in the shift linkage but have a adjustable where one of the brakets sit so I'm able to cycle through all the gears.

After about a month of waiting for parts, travel, and live events, finally finished the rear axle and parking brake rebuild, new rotors, calipers, brake pads, and extended brake lines (only the rear at the moment).

Main issue was the parking brake. Some bolts broke, and parts seized, and were on back order from Toyota. All good now and holding her own weight today.

Today I finally left the nest of @fourtrax and brought her home. Since I usually "work" about half a day, I should have plenty of time to tinker with the LC.

Deleted the ABS and added a proportioning value this morning.

Starting to remove everything from the front axle for a rebuild, cleaning, and paint.

Thanks for the double check. I'll take another look, I just think I did a different route.

I copied @lumbee1 drawing. Still hooking up to the rear.

Okay I am just going off what I saw on his post, according to him the rear port on the master is the rear brakes. But I could be wrong, easier to admit I am wrong here then to my wife... LOL
Lol. . I we both could be, but I've seen through these threads there are multiple ways.

I did the LSPV and ABS delete in two stages.

Remove LSPV, still have ABS
  • I replaced the LSPV with a union from the autoparts store.
  • I removed the sense line that runs the T underneath the MC.
  • I cut the sense line, removed a brake fitting and welded it up. I used this to plug the other side of the T.
Remove ABS
  • I disconnected all lines to the ABS pump.
  • I removed the plug from the T and eused it to connect both of the front hardlines.
  • I connected the rear line off the MC to the Wilwood Proportioning valve.

Results from both.
Before:
Awful braking performance. Soft pedal and no amount of bleeding would fix it. LSPV was still connected to rear axle.

Remove LSPV:
Braking is dramatically better. Emergency stops are now a real thing. My confidence in the braking has been greatly increased.

Replaced front calipers and got air in the ABS pump. I bled the brake system multiple times but the pedal was always soft and no bubbles during the bleed.

Remove ABS:
Simplified braking system to MC and hard lines. Braking is solid and consistent again. The PropValve needed fine tuning otherwise the rear would lock up first and the truck would rotate. I marked the "W" on Wilwood PropValve with fingernail polish. I'm 6 rotations from full open and this seems perfect.

I'm doing it all at once 👀

Everytime I see this thread, really makes me wanna go to the Treps. Such a badass combo! And if you're that far into it, just link it. It took me a couple years, but now that mines done, Im kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

Thank you for the compliment, and suggestion.

Linking would be awesome, but time is against me at the moment. I bit off way more than i can chew. Thought this was going to be a 6 month build, which i think im at a year in a half now. I start terminal leave for retirement this November, with a retirement date of March 1, 2025. I need to get it to a statis where I can take pics, show Japan, and ask them if it'll be legit to send there or not.

I also have some brand new HellFire knuckles sitting in the box that I might have to sell 🙄. Though I know it's a 🍌 jog right now that I have the axles out. . .I don't
have a welder at my spot, and don't have the knowledge/knowing placement of fabbing a new panhard mount (since im not linked). I can host a HAMMON, but this is the time that everyone is focused on thier rigs for Relic Run, GSMTR, and other Spring/Summer events.

I do have these pictures for reference though.

Can't remember who's thread I took this from.
