Why would you post this in somebody's build thred?
Start your own thread to tell us what Slee did to your rig.
My apologies - I'm a newbie, so didn't realize I was stepping on toes!
@cruiseroutfit ... where was this photo taken?
That is on Lake Powell. 37.892128, -110.371241
With GPS coordinates too!? Holy cow....THANKS!
No worries. That was part of the annual Outlaws Run, a group of rag tag explorers (most of which are here on Mud). Such fun trips around the west.
Yeah, my plan for next summer is a rather circuitous routed thru Arches, Canyonlands, Zion and Bryce with Burr Trail Rd thrown in for good measure. Should be epic
I'm still rocking the old girl and it's seen quite a bit of trail time this year with a fair bit more to come. But, my post-trip to-do kept getting longer and it was time to give her some TLC.
My door locks have progressively been slower and slower as of late and finall my driver door just quit locking and unlocking. I was 100% convinced it was a bad actuator motor which was all good, I have some of the motors here as well as complete AISIN new actuators. So I tore down the door (this thread rocks btw) thinking I was doing an actuator motor (tons of info on that here). What I found tuned into a mystery...
I pulled the entire lock actuator assembly and tested the motor using the FSM (alternating current to pins 2/3 which are the middle two). Low and behold it was slow and sticky but moving. Yet in the vehicle, nothing. So I started tracing the wiring back to the body side junction and found I had a continuity break somewhere. Boo. I started peeling the harness and quickly found the broken wires right at the flexi joint between the door and the body. I made some clean splice repairs and taped the harness back together.

Now, back to the actuator. My original one was quite sticky and all of the latch linkage was sticky too. I could have easily cleaned it up, replaced the motor and reassembled but I opted for a fresh AISIN actuator assembly, it locks/unlocks so crisply and fast

(New actuator assembly along with old)
I reassembled the door lock and handle linkage and reinstalled the door panel. While a few of my other locks were slow, they are all locking and unlocking nicely. I may swap out the other motors or do complete actuators on those too. Next up an oil change, yeah![]()
Booooooooooooo
So I did a thing. I sent the Deathstar home with a new owner. It was HARD to do for a grip of reason, time being one of the big ones... it takes time to sell a vehicle even when I've had a buyer for the last 2 years![]()
So the burning question though is do you still own at least (1) 100 series?
Mwahahahahaha
Nope, I am 100-less. Still a 4x,6x,7x,200 household![]()
Oh, you need a Pig then!
so far so good! they are on the list! right after some tires and a few other bits@mderrick You may need a few more of these new door lock actuators![]()
