Do aftermarket exhaust manifolds have the same issue as the oem Toyota ones (cracking) and causing the infamous tick ?

All of them have their own set of issues. OEM will eventually warp/crack but from what my mechanic told me I should be good for a really long time maybe never again having to do the job. I have seen the Doug Thorley headers became a real PITA to fit with out some modification but sound to be much more robust. I would not put on any other than these two.

Which aftermarket brand are you talking about?
Just curious if anyone has any experience with a particular brand ? Not sure on which one is good….

Yea I’ve got an OEM driver manifold waiting to go on. What a bad design it is I can’t believe Toyota did this. (2 piece) I guess it does make it easier to align ?

I just did a set of doug thorley last weekend. It wasn't too bad of an install, and they are so much more beefy than stock. You could drop a bomb on the truck and I bet that mounting flange won't bend.

Yeah, I don’t want to do headers. I’ve just had so much bad experience with headers in the past I want OEM style.
