Fuel pump is there because the fuel tank resides mostly below the carburetor by the rear wheel there. It's a low pressure pump, like 5 PSI. It should cycle until it feels resistance against the carburetor float needle. Pitter patter pitter patter pitter patter pitter patter stopPretty bored waiting on parts for the 40. My brother donated this 80's vintage Kawasaki Bayou 185 to my yard several years ago in non-running condition. Decided yesterday to drag it up to the garage and see if I can get it running. Looks like it wasn't much of a popular model so parts are hard to find. Right now trying to get the rear drum unseized. Motor turns over but carb looks pretty cruddy. For some reason Kawasaki decided to put an electric fuel pump in this thing so that will be my first test.
