Just ordered my CDL button. Hopefully next week I can get control of my center diff.
Don’t forget to quarantine the switch for 14 days before touching it

What is all that?

Vacuum lines which are involved with the emissions systems (what’s pictured), switching the transfer case into 4wd, provides brake boost, and a number are in the throttle body and air intake doing various things involved in the old school fuel injection (I think that’s the case at least)

To @iptman’s point fj60s and late 40s have even more vacuum lines for emissions because the 2F wasn’t initially designed when all the regs were in place

Anyone know the story on the #* on the old stuff? It’s definitely original

Thanks. Yeah- thats a lot of vacuum lines. At least its not as bad as an old benz which used them for door locks and air vents and stuff. Still looks like a bit of a headache. Looks good now though.

Are those +15 offset wheels and any rubbing? I'm looking at doing this after suspension this year. Also what are you doing about a spare?

There were a few parts leftover from getting Jack's power steering installed. Steering boxes have always been a mystery to me, so I opened up the factory unit. The gears look in excellent shape. There was a bad a bearing and the gaskets were all leaking. Worth rebuilding? Oh, and I'll bet your wondering what that thick stuff in there is. Jack decided that to remedy the leaking unit, multipurpose grease was the answer.

The TRD pro wheels are +4mm offset. For the spare, I actually need to get a definitive answer on if I can run a 255/80r17 as a spare because that should fit underneath. Ive heard some people say that the spare has to be the exact same size or it will damage components of the drivetrain because of the full-time awd system. A 285/70r17 will fit underneath but only if it’s deflated and then it can be inflated with onboard air when needed. Right now the stock spare has TPMS so if I swap it out for an un inflated tire it will trigger the dash alert 🤔 I don’t really have a good solution at the moment other than investing in a rear mounted tire carrier.

I tried it with mine and it rubbed on the track bar.

Looks like you'll need a tire carrier..
Or you could put a sensor in a PVC tube or something along those lines and pressurize it so it does not go off. A simpler thing would be deflate the spare so it fits no problem underneath, then reset the TPMS indicator to think that all the tire pressures are normal and then it won't go off unless it goes 20% or something below that new set benchmark.

Can you turn off the TPMS sensor or maybe just the one for the spare with Techstream?

@PRADO3 did you get factory sensors for the tires or aftermarket? I went cheap with some off Amazon that had good ratings.. one of them died only months after install... so now I'm living with check tire pressure system message on my dash until I get around to fixing it

Haven't tried the techstream route.. Might try that with mine and see what happens. The pressurized tube was an idea people had posted in the 200 section and said it works. The lowering pressure and resetting with that button that you hold for 3secs or whatever it is I have tried before and its worked

I bought “oem” ones on ebay... ryan said they looked kind of sketchy... but they work fine at the moment.
