Happy to help. We have all of the different pinion flange variations available too!
I think he just needs to take a measurement of the current flange and post it up so @bkfj40 can check it with his. The key is the coarse spline.
Can't I just take the flange off of Jack's pinion and swap it on the pumpkin from BK?
no you will not be able to do that Jacks is fine spline and BK’s is course spline but looking at the chart you should be good to just bolt it up. And you can just change the drive shaft yoke to a matching bolt pattern yoke. I should have a small yoke if you do need it.
get it and see. but there have always been a odd ball here and there. or one got changed over the years for one reason or another. I know I have a driveshaft flange that will work if the one you have doesn't. If needed its yours. just give me a day or two to dig it out.According to that chart, fine spline was not started until 7/1978 and Jack's truck is 2/1978 so think it is good to go.

Great job! This was the 1st job I ever did on my 40, waaaay back in 1997.Got the last of the hoses today and got them on. The only non-OEM hoses I used— some Gates green stripe and some Us for the rear heater.
The beast lives and hasn’t thrown any parts off the front of the engine yet!
Runs right around 3/8ths now just like our 100 series. The truck never got much above the bottom of the gauge, never above 1/4, and the heat was always luke warm. Maybe I’ll pick up a whole mpg now that it gets in the right range!
now just need to drain the distilled water I put in and add the red juice/distilled water mix. Switching from green to the Toyota stuff.
Feeling good— this is my first time doing a water pump, thermostat, etc. and any kind of seal replacement/timing cover/getting that deep. Confidence was low after my botched master cylinder change even though it was a bad part. I just hope I’m not celebrating prematurely.

Pretty bored waiting on parts for the 40. My brother donated this 80's vintage Kawasaki Bayou 185 to my yard several years ago in non-running condition. Decided yesterday to drag it up to the garage and see if I can get it running. Looks like it wasn't much of a popular model so parts are hard to find. Right now trying to get the rear drum unseized. Motor turns over but carb looks pretty cruddy. For some reason Kawasaki decided to put an electric fuel pump in this thing so that will be my first test.

I was so used to riding dirt bikes, that when I got on the 3 wheeler I would run over my foot constantly. Fortunately it had worn out tires so it didn't suck my foot under. Those old three wheelers are so fun and dangerous. I want one! Just don’t put your foot down while cornering.
