This truck has presented an interesting angle. .3/4 of it had good enough paint for CLR then polish and wax. The other 1/4 I did CLR and fluid film. It’s turning out great. It’s a dented mess but there is no chaos.

@Vulkyn you need to check out the axe and shovel bracket on this truck, maybe give you some ideas for yours.

They are damn cool. No idea how old they are.

for those who have used the Goof off and or straight thinner to remove spray paint with the blue scotch brite..

What’s the best process? Pour on rag and wipe on panel then scrub with scotch brite? Or pour onto scotch brite then scrub?
Spray onto panel with sprayer? Then scrub?

So far I’ve just been pouring on a rag and scrubbing.

I had the best luck with these two approaches:

Or pour onto scotch brite then scrub?
Spray onto panel with sprayer? Then scrub?

It's amazing how much that brought the color out!

Yeah absolutely, granted the photo hides a lot of the imperfections. I’m really happy with how this turned out. It honestly blows me away! Interestingly, this truck had been resprayed at least 25+ years ago, so I recovered a non factory paint job. I was nervous how the cheaper paint mind hold up.

If you’ve moved on to fluid film, but still have a fair amount of boiled linseed oil, know that it works wonders on old whiskey barrels. A local brewery was liquidating (RIP Orpheus), and I picked up a used Woodford Reserve barrel (they were aging stout in) for cheap. Now a cabin cocktail table with patina!
