Not the best patina by a long shot but it has a cool history. It’s a 1968 that’s been in the same family since new 17,584 original miles. Sold at Georgia’s first franchised Toyota dealership Jimmy Smith Toyota and supposedly the first Land Cruiser sold in Georgia!

It won’t be patina’d much longer it’s here for a full frame off restoration 😎

There supposedly was ¨Toyota South¨ in morrow Georgia who opened in 67´ ...they claim to be the first ... a lot of dealers from back then made those claims

Not saying they are or not as that´s the only one i knew of from georgia that i had looked into earlier

Hey Jonny! Thanks for sharing. I had actually seen your old post on that when researching this subject.

I have ‘65,’66, and ‘68 Toyota dealer and distributor lists. And a blurry screen shot from a ‘67 I found on line. What I found according to them was no mention of any dealers in GA until ‘66 and those were all small non Toyota dealerships. The first Toyota franchises pop up in 1968 Jimmy Smith in Macon and Spreens Toyota in Chamblee. I think this coincides with the founding of Southeast Toyota in late October 1968.

This is the dealer list effective November 1st 1968.

My customer told me he believes he still has all the original paper work on it. I’m going to ask him if he can send pictures would be cool to see and find out what the actual date of sale was.

Wow that baby is a survivor. Is that how it's going to go on the restoration? Build thread?
