Looking at a 1974 Land Cruiser

If all the rust is what we see in the pics and the engine and driveline are OK, at $8K I would be on that like stink on sh*t.

I may be looking at a 1974 model soon. Just noticed a few things that I wanted to get clarified.
-The color appears to be Capri Blue. I cannot find where this was a factory color that year.
-The ignition is steering column mounted....does that mean California model?
-The turn signals are not on the fender, but are under the headlights. The fender is smooth so if there was a hold...it's been filled. Does this mean that someone moved them?

Thanks!
This is my '74 that is Capri Blue

Here’s my (repainted) ‘74…. It was the faded, flat shade on the Toyota Paint chart…. They brightened it up a bit…

I added the “Toyota Landcruiser” metal logos on the outside of the engine bay, and obviously, the rear view mirrors are not stock.

The truck had lost it’s hardtop before I bought it.

Looks like the center steering wheel cap is red as well indicating it’s a 74 amongst other things.
I thought that the red steering wheel was only for '75?

My biggest gripe is the absence of a license tag holder with illumination. This requires some detailed explanation about how the vehicle was acquired, or how it was used/maintained in service.

I tend to think that fifty years of Ohio weather is going to destroy a 40 that isn't garaged. Better from the unsalted portion of the West. Usually daily drivers get priority in the garage.

I believe it was for a 74 and 75 from what I could find. I was thinking it was 73-74

+1 for keep looking. Make a list of things to look at. Have a small magnet with you to look for bondo under the paint. Hearing it run and driving it would be way high on my list before I bought one.
