Yep, I spot welded as much of it as I could. Burn through was a major problem and a small hole would turn into a large one. It came out pretty good and then I just spread a thin layer of plastic filler over the minor pits. It will be lined in tinted bed liner as well so perfection wasn't necessary
 
I wish! I have been busy buying a house so the rig has taken a back seat due to time and money. Today is the big moving day for the FJ40. I am headed down to the UHaul to grab a car hauler and tow it to its new home. The good news is that my new garage is larger and I have spent the last week coating the garage floor in epoxy paint and clear coat. I also wired up some new High Output fluorescent lighting. I will try and post some pics of the rig getting towed to her new home along with some shots of my sweet new garage. I will be in and out all weekend. Hit me up if you wanna stop by and see the progress. Sad to say there hasn't been much progress.

Well no real progress to report on the 40, but I managed to get her moved into her new home. A nice oversized 2 car garage with new lighting and a fresh epoxy floor. Can't wait to get back to work on it!

Here is what used on my floor. I did 2 coats of epoxy and 2 coats of clear . It's bombproof !

Looks great. How much was that stuff?

How many SF is your garage and how many gals did you use?
 
Just went out and measured it. 21x 21= 441 sq feet

I used 2 kits and it covered perfectly for each coat with none leftover. A kit is a gallon of epoxy and a gallon of hardener...so 2 gallons a kit. The first coat I thinned it out with about a half gallon of the special reducer. The guy at the shop highly recommended it. He said that's what the guys doing it professionally do. It lets it seep into all the cracks, nook and crannies a lot easier. The second coat I did not reduce at all. I then did two coats of clear. It's not required since the epoxy is pretty tough by itself. I just wanted more scratch and chemical resistance. It's nice...I scratched it, but then it rubbed right out! I wanted to be able to spill gas and brake fluid and not worry. Also the epoxy will stain a bit if oil sits on for an extended period. The clear will prevent that from happening. The process is a real bitch! It took me a week. First I etched it with muriatic acid and pressure washed it. Then the 4 coats. It takes a day between coats for drying time.

The tub is all blocked ! God that was a pain ! I bought all the supplies to make my home paint booth and I bought the paint, clear, and tintable raptor liner. Starting the booth construction tonight hope to be painting by noon tomorrow. 66 degree high partly cloudy. Wish me luck!

Looking good! I am jealous, I am still working on blocking mine out. What a PITA! It is too easy to find other projects to do.
 
Depending upon what you are spraying keep in mind those fans can ignite paint vapors . I've used that setup in a small booth out in the yard painting old garden tractors and it worked great . Just used a double filter ahead of the fan and single filters on the inlet side of the booth .

Maybe for that reason, you should consider a pressurized booth... Fans (with filters) blow in the sealed booth, and naturally exhaust through another hole with more filters but no fans. Maybe this was already the plan...
