Now the only rear issue I'm getting is some popping from the rear springs or shackles. Everything is tight and greased.

I've got maybe 10,000 miles on the set up and it didn't start making noise until I did all the water crossings with the floods here.

I'm going to end up greasing the leaves with a pin tipped grease gun and taking the shackles apart to check again.

Any ideas?

Also, I zip tied the snorkel to the mirror and I like the look of it. I'm very excited to install it in a few weeks.

Any pictures of the ARB harness install. I have the harness in the garage and it's on my list of to dos.

None on my phone but it was super easy. Took about 15 mins and only needed three screws into the fender by the battery.

I ran the harness through the radiator cross member, into the fender and then out by the battery.

Don't forget to join the two jumpers together by the relays to activate your high beams.

I'll get some when I get back from NYC.

You answered your question :)

The springs get wet & then make crunching noises when flexed.
It's inevitable.
I've tried lifting the body with a hi-lift & inject grease between the leaves friction spots where I could with a needle tipped grease gun - and that made the sounds worse.

The only cure I've found for 'spring crunch' is to ignore it... because it will eventually go away.

Glad you snorkle says "Land Cruiser" my Malaysian snorkle was blank. Take care to visually verify the mounting position the supplied template comes with. Mine is even with the top of the fender (per the template) but looks like it should have been a little lower due to the cutout for the fender arch. Let me know if that makes sense or not.

Added my 2H air cleaner today. All in prep for the snorkel.

Back from about a month abroad.

The truck sat for 3 weeks at work and started up like a champ. No battery issues at all. Changed the oil and I’m going to install my winch soon. The u bolts loosened up a bit as well as the OME shackles losing about a turn on all the bolts. No big deal. The suspension is silent now.

Changed the oil and added the even bigger filter. Delvac for $26 at Wally World and the big Baldwin filter. I’ve got a good line on the big oem yota filters so I’m ordering those to sell over here.

I did new pedal pads all around from cruiser corps, hood prop hardware and hood bumpers. The wiper covers are another little detail that will make it look slightly more complete.

No other plans aside from my winch and snorkel install. I’m at 293,000 and it’s going up daily.

I spotted a 70 series in Bern, Switzerland. That was a good feeling.

I need some time off. I'm about to hit another 2 week spot of 12's around town. I really want to get this stuff out of the trunk.

Also have an arb breather kit sitting there.

I finally put on a fabbed bumper that I’ve had sitting behind the shed for over a year.

Uses stock points and is about 5x as heavy as the stock bumper. I wouldn’t use that hitch for anything more than a recovery point but it’s nice to have. I’m thinking of bolting my hi-lift across the back of it.

@FARMAN33 was kind enough to do all the hardwork and let me use his garage for the snorkel install.

It’s properly routed to the diesel air cleaner and for a knock off snorkel it fits very well.

His garage is what we all should strive for.

Also, I’m about half way done with the winch install. Ended up with a previous generation Warn VR10000S.

Always a fun time my friend. My garage is your garage. Funny now most of the work that takes place here is for friends. I need a new project!!!

The true irony of the snorkel install is that we cut the only panel on the truck was rust free, and I’ve got no regrets.

Yes!!! Looks so on the silver body. Nicely done.

Another weekend trip down. 500 miles of highway cruising and about 40 miles on B and C roads.

It loves the patchwork and dirt roads at speed. The ome heavy and bilstein 5100 valving is spot on and doesn’t rattle a thing.

Next up on my list of things to do-

OEM ps pump before they disappear.
New side cover and oil pan gasket.
New pcv and grommet
555 tie rod ends from curt.
New rear lap belts from seat belt planet.

I also ordered one of the last Aisin clutches from rockauto in anticipation of me going h55f down the line.

It’s smoking a bit but I’m going to give it a fair chance to clear up since I know I had about 1.5q too many in the crankcase. Runs great and is getting 14mpg highway so i can’t complain. Currently at 294,000miles and I’m going to drive back and forth to LA next month.

The winch is on. I had a bad remote out of the box but warn was awesome to deal with.

Also, my co driver is cute as hell.
