Too damn hot here in Austin (100F), so I worked in the living room. Had to solder some hacked wires from the PO splicing in a trailer harness. Not too shabby. I'll get some wire loom and it will be ready to install.

I also pulled the trigger on the full metric JIS flange head nuts and bolt set. I was getting nickel and dimed going back and forth to the car parts store. This should save me money and look good. Right? :)

Next milestone! Just picked up the tub and some other bits that were sand blasted and epoxy primered. I'm now going to weld shut the aux gas filler hole and some small pinhole spots where the gas tank sits.

Can you smooth those bumps in the bed?

Monstaliner? No-o-o-o!!!

Seen too many threads where the the dude tries everything known to mankind to remove the stuff. Sheer torture. Your bed looks so good, why not show it off - roll out the bed mat when needed? Just exposed which side I'm on, didn't I?

Your tub was sitting outside when I picked mine up. I assume it's next, but you might want to call him.

I am in Cali for another week... he may be done by the time i get home

What's wrong with lining the inside wear areas?

Dave,
I did the Raptor liner in my Red 40, the time machine build. The Raptor looks great, and I liked it. I did notice that it was easier to scare, or chip than I expected. my portable tree stand would leave marks, if I just tossed it in the bed.
It really depends on how you are going to use the 40 and your personal preference.

Have you seen Jeff truck? Not sure which Bedliner he used, but it looks nice. Armor liner is what Jack has been spraying latly, sprays on nice.

Any updates Dave? That tub looks solid. I can't wait to see some color on it.

Also, don't know if you're interested in going this direction, but I used some braided split loom that looks really good and it's easy to install. It looks a lot better than the ribbed split loom. Something like this:

Go with the Monstaliner. No affiliation, but I have used it on several tubs, rockers, truck beds and a full 60 liner job (Goss).... Product is great and is much more durable than other DIY kits out there. If you go with a lighter texture, it cleans VERY EASILY!.. Roll it twice per coat (2x) and let it self level from there. (this will give you a thicker mil count than rolling it to death and applying 3 coats...) That is the perfect interior texture IMO.

Its looking very nice Dave,

Good job.

Thanks Jason. I'll keep that in mind when I do the inside.

What do you think of using it as an under coating?

Dave,

I haven't used it as an undercoating yet.. I applied Chassis Saver and a rubberized 3M coating on the belly of Tank. If I had sandblasted the belly I probably would have gone the Monstaliner route instead though.
