I think I invented the best way to clean old rubber on these Toyotas.

I used a Mr. Clean magic eraser soaked in acetone.

The results speak for themselves. This was after about 3 minutes of work.

Transmission hump/cover is loosely set in place. I did install a new gasket on the bottom of it. Waiting on new fuel lines and new stainless JIS hardware from OverlandMetric.com before I bolt it down. He was very nice to work with, and I will definitely be buying a full kit when I begin my next restoration.

Wow very nice, feels really familiar.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't read through your build thread several times for ideas. Beautiful work.
