Hello,
Has anyone put a 2F motor into a 1964 FJ45? I am currently rebuilding mine and I'm worried that the 2F motor doesn't have enough clearance to the radiator. The 2F has a fan clutch that is putting the fan about three quarters of a inch from the radiator. Will the lack of space be a problem?

lots of 2F's in older rigs
what vintage and series is the 2F from?

That would be a water pump thing, not an engine block thing.
I have about one inch clearance from the fan to the radiator. A different water pump could move the fan blades closer to the block ,but then I would have to change out the lower pullies. Is the enough clearance?

yes, you will be just fine. Get yourself a +75 fan shroud and rock out.

My brother congratulations on the truck. My son and I are attempting the very same thing in our ‘65 over in the Sancho build. We’re transplanting the entire drivetrain from our ‘77 into the ‘65 FJ45. I would love to check out your truck. We’re in Gallup.

i am so new to forums, if this is getting to you please let me know and i will send pictures. I have the 2F motor and transmission mounted on the frame and the fan is about one inch from the radiator. Sounds like that should be good enough.
