Can someone chime in here a second?

I know it's not OE, but when I start assembling body panels, I'd like to cut some thin pieces of rubber to place in between panels that are sandwiched together (bib, fenders, aprons, hinges, etc.) to keep things from rubbing together and subsequently rubbing off paint, finishes, etc.

The PO had done it on my 1968 I used to own, and I always liked it. Anyone know of a good material to use? I was thinking heavy mil rubber that you'd find in a shower pan liner, but I thought that may be a little too thick.

I just starting reading your thread, so this info maybe too late. This seller at Ebay sells different precut rubber pcs for the various parts of the body. You might check his store. kenootski | eBay

A very awesome testament to dedication! You know, it's one thing to have the money- Another to have the know how; But what I'm seeing here I can't put words to. You actually GET STUFF DONE, and rapidly at that! All with a little one and everything. How buddy, how? A+++

No idea.

I do most of my work between 4:00-6:30a.m. and 9:30 p.m. and after.

I did.

I was several pages back.

Made of PVC pipe and plastic sheeting.

I've been painting small parts in the garage, with the door cracked, and a fan going.
