To quote Poser - "I LOVE acetone."

Can't wait to see them on your rig Mike!

Thanks Kris! Me too, next week I'll have the tires mounted and installed, I'll post some pics. How's the search coming along?

Installed my new steelies, tires and hubcaps what a difference it makes.

Tires - Good Year Duratracs 31x10.5x15, steelies OEM Toyota, hubcaps OEM Toyota.

I'll be removing the rear flairs as I no longer need them, that was a PO add-on, however, the mud flaps stay since they are my install.

great thread and a great looking 40 ... its the little things that count and your attention to deal is obvious ... great pics ...

I'm in the middle of breathing life into the carb cooling fan system on my de-smogged 78 fj40 that runs a header (plenty of good threads on that subject) ... one of your early pics re your re-sealing project with your intake/exhaust manifolds on your engine lift, points to me perhaps needing to move the manifold temp sensor/sender re the carb cooling fan closer to the header so it can get a temp reading signal ... just proves plenty of pics can help in a number of ways ...

hope your rear diff issue is resolved with few issues ...

your OEM steelies, hubcaps, and tires look great ... that's the way a 40 looks best in my humble opinion ...

My window of opportunity!
Since I'm rebuilding the rear axle this was the most opportune time to install disc brakes and a new suspension system.

The third member is now 100% rebuilt, replaced all the bearings and and pinion seal and adjusted it in accordance with FSM, however, the 3rdmember installation is now in the back burner as I'm replacing leaf springs with a brand new Old Man Emu suspension and also installing a brand new rear disc brake system.
I'm still waiting for the axle bearings and seals to arrive from SOR.

The OME suspension will arrive next Monday from TORFAB in Makilteo, WA.

Here are a few pics;

Glad you're keeping busy Mike!

You have a great attention to detail!!

Danny, thanks for your kind words!

Yeah I'm trying to stay as busy as possible because I don't like what the alternative might bring.

Go, Mike, go! Projects galore! Can't wait to see finished product all button up.

You're killing me with that lift! :)
