good to hear - I have a list of LX450-specific stuff I need . . .

Hmmmmm damn I need to go to bed.

Looking at Sewell's parts catalog it looks like you can order a roof and a headliner without the sunroof hole for the 80 series. I love my sunroof but seems like a lot of people don't......

+1 for Sewell. You guys making me want my 430 again.

I too get frustrated with the club Lexus.

On the timing belt kit I found that most parts are Lexus and Toyota from tundra v8, and we get better discounts through Toyota.

I was doing my sC430.

Good idea on the seat foam. I need to order that

Yeah some parts definitely cross over from the 2uz to the 3uz but the water pump is different etc. don't get me wrong Sewell is no Beno or Cdan but they are a lot better than my local dealer. Lol

How is the truck running? I had some fun in the truck this weekend up in Austin with the owner of Johnson Performance, he has a ZO6 and he was following me to lunch and I gunned it leaving a light and he was caught off guard sitting there spinning. Was pretty funny. Didn't last long but was a good laugh when we got to the Mexican restaurant.

I haven't driven it since November. It just sits over winter. :(

Ok back to the truck, it has been getting a little neglected. I found a box I forgot I had ordered. They are solid aluminum bumpstop spacers for the rear and drop spacers for the front sway bar. When I opened the box I was very happy to see that the quality was great! Easily a good deal at twice what he is asking.

Took the truck out and planned on camping on the beach but once I got there and saw that half of Texas thought the same thing I quickly had to find a new plan, so I ended up driving through a rare game preserve. Nothing Hardcore or anything but really made me want to get out of the city for a little adventure. Not a lot of opportunity for that in Texas but I think after a few little maintenance items I will plan a 4 day trip into Big Bend.

I know this has absolutely nothing to do with 80's just kind of musing. I love cars, trucks, motorcycle, pretty much anything mechanical. Today I sold the second vehicle that I really regret. The first being my 1971 FJ55, and then today I sold my 1 of 47 2011 SS GT-R. Logically I know they are just things, but why do we get so attached to these Damn vehicles?! Lol.

I recently decided that I was going to give up my successful and lucrative career of 16 years and go back to school for 5 more years, so logically the LX is also in the chopping block sights as well, but I don't think I can handle selling two of my very personal vehicles back to back. Lol.

Do any of you guys get attached to these old hunks of metal? do you ever care when you sell them or is it just just good cheap transportation but when it's time no feelings? Just curious.

Seek counseling.

I have been considering a gt-r....I didn't even know they made a "ss" version.....

SS stands for Super Silver in GT-R speak.

So I am crazy for giving a s*** about cars? lol Yeah I guess writing it down it does sound a little bat s*** crazy. haha.

But you always hear about these guys that gave up old muscle cars, and classics and always regret it, or think back so fondly on them. I guess that is more what I meant.

"attached" would be an understatement

I get attached for sure. I just recently sold an fj40 my dad and I bought when I was 16. I am now 40. It was a sad day and I miss it but it really did not fit my lifestyle with kids, dogs and a wife. I chose to move it and use the money for school and to build up my 80. I felt it was better than letting it just sit in the garage.

I feel the same way about my 80.

Godzilla is a future classic for sure, but if it doesn't fit than it's better to get rid of it... I guess.
Well, I wouldn't sell it but I don't have the luxury of living with one either.
That's the last of the petrol monsters.
Every halo supercar from here on out will most likely be hybrid or electric. Sad.

Good luck with school and life change!

Thanks, I too think it will also be a classic. With only 7,000 brought into the US since it showed up 6 years ago, the numbers are there to support it. There were 12,000 MKIV Supras and 9,000 NSX's.

And you're right they are already talking about the next version having hybrid electric power.

Well bringing this back to the 80, I guess there is no excuse now not to have it in tip top shape. lol.

Punch list-
Build new big intercooler
Mount Slee's badass shocks
Install rear bump stops and front sway bar spacers
Pull Driveshafts and replace ujoints
Build and install some type of roof rack fairing.
Rebuild front end

If anyone has one of Shane's leather sets in the dark brown that they bought and want to sell, PM me.

Stay tuned for some actual 80 content in this thread it has really drifted the last few months. haha.
