I’ve done them crazy shifts before in my profession, an aircraft mechanic, when I was younger.

No way I would do it now!

Another thing I’ve come to learn is OT is not worth it, taxes kill you. I made a deal at a couple of employers to do straight time after 8 hrs but also paid time off in place of the extra pay. It was a win win for each of us!
I’m middle age. It takes its toll. I don’t know how I used to function on 4 hours of sleep regularly. When stuff like that comes up, I take it for the team. They get to keep their lives, and regular shifts going, and they bust their ass for me when I ask. I have it great. CTO is the way!

Middle age for me is anywhere near mid 40’s. Don’t ever act it. That’s when you get old, bro! Although, I personally can not keep up with the young bucks at the gym anymore.

Well, I have my work cut out for me next weekend!

@JonChimpo how did the bushing job go? I just pulled a body lift kit out of my 80. looks like I need many of those bushings replaced. Also, reading through, I was surprised that there were supposed to be two nuts, cause my bolts all only had but one lock-nut on each.

Hey man,

I never got to doing the job. Life got busy, sold my second vehicle, so the LC is my only vehicle for a little while. I think it’s going to be a winter project for me.

Not many walk throughs on the job either. Makes me uneasy when I have to go into a job blind.. definitely want to have another vehicle lined up so when it goes south I'm not stressing on finishing.

I’ll definitely keep the group posted on my status! Good luck if you get to it before me. Make a video of the process!

its super easy, just look at my previous post from energy suspension, they made a guide for swapping the body mounts.

From memory, the only difficult parts were:
(1) jacking the body off, its kinda scary but that's all.
(2) if you have rust, the bolts above the exhaust and the other side are rusted for sure and are very stuck
(3) remove the fan shroud or else it will get cracked.

I did the fuel filler neck and changed the BMs at the same time, so my memory of the above might be hazy on what was really necessary.
