@c2dfj45 don’t limit yourself to Tate’s Hell. The National Forest on the north side of TH has exponentially better trails. I have organized several trail rides through the area in the last few weeks and most prefer the National Forest trails. It should be pretty dry this weekend so you should not have too many issues with water crossings. Weekend before last most water crossings were around 3 feet in depth and went up from there.

Good to know. I'll have to check it out. Tate's Hell seems a bit boring but I'm just really the camp cook I think....that's why I get invited :)

Does the National Forest have camp sites in the forest......primitive ones?

Yes you can primitive camp. Lots of little side trails lead off to some nice secluded ones. I would enter from the North side just west of Tallahassee - you can hop off the interstate in a few spots and end up on Highway 20.

Great info....I'll give it the google to see if I can see anything. Thanks!

Got the latch mounted up....we made a threaded plate for the inside tube and plug welded that to the swing out.....figured that would be the strongest. The end of that tube will be capped so no access.

Clamp goes here.

Used the HDPE to make the stops....

They go on the stopper obviously

And to further complicate things, I needed a neat illuminated tag bracket....so we made one. Part of the bracket and light...

Tag location. Under that tag is a flat piece of 1/8" that we welded the part that holds the light.....the tag will sandwich it to the arm. Kind of a cool setup. Tag light will get routed thru the bottom arm and out near the spindle.

All cleaned up and ready for the last bits of work when the last couple of parts arrive....longer u-bolt for latch, gas strut, safety slide pin.

Very slick solution for mounting the clamp.
I thought it was a pretty good solution for strength and serviceability......hopefully a bolt never snaps off when removing it....that would be a bad thing :(

Completed the gauge cluster....even installed the new clear cover. Painted the needles too. It's probably as close to new as you can get....notice those miles...up to 10 now. Been enjoying little trips around the 'hood.

Were you able to purchase this gauge cluster new from Toyota? Any chance you have the PN?

The gauges in this truck were the combo of probably 3 or 4 different 70 series gauges WITH an 80 series speedo throw in for good measure :)

Hmmmmm.....what do we have here?

Man I’m learning that whole gauge setup is not an easy acquisition. I assumed that was going to be an easy find but it seems as though it’s one of the more difficult.

I was surprised to read about the canbus setup in your thread. That sucks.

Very very challenging to do the gauges. On the #2 truck I really lucked out as I got the harness and the cluster....that made it easy. #1 has been thru 2 different techs...it's a 24v gauge cluster working on 12v.....the speedo is out of an 80.....the tach is probably 3 different gauges. Lol. It works perfectly. Magic or miracle....one of them.

Rear bumper cover/nonskid?
Bingo.

That beautiful piece of 5 bar tread aluminum plate went right here.

We had to have it broke to fit our bumper's upper edges profile....then we trimmed it to fit, notched it where we needed to and drilled it so we can nut and bolt it on. 5 bar isn't so easy to find.....believe it or not....at least in the US.

It looks amazing.....really finishes things off.
