Door gaskets on green 1 as good as they look in picture

Probably not! But I'll double check.

Also, surprised nobody's commented on the Beavis sticker on the rear window... definitely an added "bonus" on Miss Alissa. You always wonder about the previous owners. Along those lines, I was definitely expecting to find many more relics when deep cleaning - I did find a sweet Hot Wheels car that will eventually be epoxied onto the dash, I'm sure.

Putting some feelers out for a radiator - especially those "close" to me in Boise. @ginericLC may or may not have one for me - anyone else have one laying around?

Starting to chip away. Spent yesterday evening trying to assess how far the PO got with the engine swap. I think I have most of the parts... but Lord help me with the wiring! Every friggin' wire just hanging there. Electrical woes are my nightmare - I studied mechanical engineering for a reason! This is where I'll be pushed, definitely. Regardless it's coming around. Installed the starter, connected the exhaust pipes to the manifold, installed the ignition coil, and started taking inventory of all hoses to be replaced/installed.

I had (2) ignition coils and (2) starters, belonging to the 1F and 2F engine. The starters and ignition coils are very different sizes.. in each case I just installed the "bigger" one :hillbilly:. Anyone out there know if one is better than the other?

ALSO: I'm missing an overflow container for the radiator. The single one I have (1975) is round in shape, and the mounting bracket won't plug-and-play into Miss Alissa (1974). I can fab up a mounting bracket, if needed. Or maybe someone out there has one they want to swap? I'll snap a pic to show what I'm after.

OH! I also spent about 45 minutes rubbing some of the oxidation off the red. Polishing a turd, again, but keeping the family happy with the yard art. And finally, I pulled off the Isuzu wheels and put them on C-list. For now Miss Alissa is rocking my stock FJ62 rims with 31" tires. Slight upgrade, she's looking good.

@bobm, I checked out the door gaskets. They're not too bad, but a little crusty. I'll probably end up putting new ones in eventually, but I'm glad to peel them out and trade for something else if there is interest. Something like... an overflow reservoir ;)

Calvin,

My '73's overflow reservoir is the ground...you sure the '74 had one?

... Nope, not sure. Absence of a reservoir would explain why I'm not seeing mounting features in the engine compartment. I need to make it over to your place to snap some reference pics!

Thanks Bob. What year and engine is that from? 2F, correct? Here is a view of where I hope to mount the reservoir, but you can see the bracket (which matches yours) will need a different way to attach to the wall.

Anyone know which carburetor is on this engine? 1975 2F. I'd like to order a rebuild kit but there seems to be a few different iterations of carbs.

Recommendations on a kit/where to order from?

EDIT: Doing some digging, no friggin' kidding are there a "few different iterations". I'll have to confirm what I've got:

Still hunting for a radiator. Anyone know about compatibility with others of the same vintage? I.e. will a 2F FJ40 radiator drop in, or no?
