Starting to chip away. Spent yesterday evening trying to assess how far the PO got with the engine swap. I think I have most of the parts... but Lord help me with the wiring! Every friggin' wire just hanging there. Electrical woes are my nightmare - I studied
mechanical engineering for a reason! This is where I'll be pushed, definitely. Regardless it's coming around. Installed the starter, connected the exhaust pipes to the manifold, installed the ignition coil, and started taking inventory of all hoses to be replaced/installed.
I had (2) ignition coils and (2) starters, belonging to the 1F and 2F engine. The starters and ignition coils are
very different sizes.. in each case I just installed the "bigger" one

. Anyone out there know if one is better than the other?
ALSO: I'm missing an overflow container for the radiator. The single one I have (1975) is round in shape, and the mounting bracket won't plug-and-play into Miss Alissa (1974). I can fab up a mounting bracket, if needed. Or maybe someone out there has one they want to swap? I'll snap a pic to show what I'm after.
OH! I also spent about 45 minutes rubbing some of the oxidation off the red. Polishing a turd, again, but keeping the family happy with the yard art. And finally, I pulled off the Isuzu wheels and put them on C-list. For now Miss Alissa is rocking my stock FJ62 rims with 31" tires. Slight upgrade, she's looking good.
