That's a real basic model. Absolutely no extras. Even the cargo side panels are plywood.
Today tried to get her for a test drive, but maby later.. Looks like had to pull the cylinder head open. When I bought the car it had broken radiator and most likely it had heaten a bit too much at some point. Wont keep water inside, makes a lot pressure. Something to do on easter..

Drove it out and then after an hour of trying to fill coolant system back in garage.

Just went through this thread... What a good looking truck! You've got skills as well!

While waiting for the gasket kit to arrive media blasted head and valves. Valves grinded and some new paint.

Finally first time on the road - nice!
But a lot of things still to fix. Still some heating problems and tires need to bee balanced. Carburetors secondary barrel most likely not opening. I think diaphragm is leaking. It looked like not properly working when I cleaned the carb.
But it drives fine and looks nice!!

Had also bad heating problems. So changed thermostat with no help. Tried to clean the radiator and find out it was totally stuck. Ordered new one from Rockauto and once got it here noticed it was for FJ40 and didn't fit very well. Allthough delivery was extremely fast, made the order in sun evening and radiator was from California in Finland on tuesday!! Got it though home on friday due to customs.
So I had to make some new fittings for 40 radiator. On pdf the measurements are not exactly correct. I had to modify those a bit when assembling them.
