Classic!

Check out how they kept the window from rolling down.

Yeah, got it working by applying power to the terminal block in the tailgate. I need to troubleshoot the electrical circuit today.

wow, terrible how they fixed it like that. when I stopped by yesterday I saw the rust and was amazed at how much was there. definitely needs some new sheetmetal. I'm glad you got the window working though.

Wow..

Jason, thanks for reminding me about the terminal block. I swapped in the new one in no time.

I was able to raise and lower the window with the dash switch, but not with the tailgate switch. I did notice that there was no power to the switch. I'll have to dig into that later. It's probably the relay.

I finally found out why the tailgate switch wasn't working. It was a badly corroded wire. It literally turned to dust (copper oxide?).

See the key in the next pic?

Dash pad

I also swapped in a new Cruiser Corp dash pad cover. The old pad had a piece of formed plastic on it and was glued in place. Below is all that was left of the stock pad.

The new CC pad kicks butt and looks great.

Very nice Dave!! That looks sweet, much better than what the previous cover was.

The wiring reminds me of my severed license plate light wire that prevented my lights not to work, which caused me to fail inspection.

I love the key. did you check if it fits your ignition?

No, I'm going to just leave it. Kinda like a cave painting for others to appreciate.

Good Job! wiring gremlins are a big headache for me. Leaving the key is a great idea.

How did you " glue " the dash pad on?

The pad comes with a tube of glue, but I just "snapped" it on and left it like that for now. It fits/conforms snuggly to the existing dash pad.

Looks too short for the ignition key, probably a door lock/tailgate key...
Polish it up and see if it's a TEQ key.

Dave, it didn't occur to me that you started a build thread on Hamp. But now that I know you have I'll be asking you a million stupid questions.

Since I don't have a level driveway to do the OM617 swap, I towed Hamp over to my buddy Edwin's shop.
