The automated messages from Woody suggested an intro, so here we go. It's a little embarrassing to show the condition of the tan one, but life got in the way and I've been driving a 4Runner with air conditioning.
I originally joined IH8Mud about 22 years ago, and got pretty heavy into Cruisers. I quit posting around 2012. I still own 2 of them. The tan one is an early 1969 that was given to me around 2001. It was a father-son project that they could never get running. It came with 3 different electric fuel pumps, and a manual one in the box because they couldn't figure out the fuel problem. I flushed the fuel lines and cleaned the napalm out of the tank and got it going. It's been around the block, made it to 8 Surf N' Turfs (and even caught fire at one during the post poker run jump-a-thon. That was fun rebuilding a wiring harness on the beach.). I recently was able to modify an old Mark A carb and get it running good. Currently has a 2F, 4 speed, 4 wheel disc brakes, and an ARB. And about 600k miles. It came with the F145 and 3 on the tree, which served well for a few years.
The blue one is a 77' with 45k original miles, and came from Mr. Souter of Dodge Souter in Barstow. Has original FJ55 A/C in it, even though it's not a 79'. No engine or trans but also the cleanest original fenders you will ever see. I'd love to give it a modern drive train. $400 well spent. Cheers! Jesse
