The automated messages from Woody suggested an intro, so here we go. It's a little embarrassing to show the condition of the tan one, but life got in the way and I've been driving a 4Runner with air conditioning.

I originally joined IH8Mud about 22 years ago, and got pretty heavy into Cruisers. I quit posting around 2012. I still own 2 of them. The tan one is an early 1969 that was given to me around 2001. It was a father-son project that they could never get running. It came with 3 different electric fuel pumps, and a manual one in the box because they couldn't figure out the fuel problem. I flushed the fuel lines and cleaned the napalm out of the tank and got it going. It's been around the block, made it to 8 Surf N' Turfs (and even caught fire at one during the post poker run jump-a-thon. That was fun rebuilding a wiring harness on the beach.). I recently was able to modify an old Mark A carb and get it running good. Currently has a 2F, 4 speed, 4 wheel disc brakes, and an ARB. And about 600k miles. It came with the F145 and 3 on the tree, which served well for a few years.

The blue one is a 77' with 45k original miles, and came from Mr. Souter of Dodge Souter in Barstow. Has original FJ55 A/C in it, even though it's not a 79'. No engine or trans but also the cleanest original fenders you will ever see. I'd love to give it a modern drive train. $400 well spent. Cheers! Jesse

They look like they’re ready for some attention.
What’s the plan?

We’re also going to need a ton more pics.
I bought the blue one about 15 years ago, because it was $400. The local paper had a "Toyota Suburban" advertised for $500; I haggled it down. Probably going to get a crate motor with throttle body injection and an auto trans to match. Frame off and a focus on comfort as opposed to stock.

The tan one needs attention, but the drivetrain is very solid. It's been rough since day one and is staying that way. I'll show a pic of the other side, it's been flopped a couple of times and I tubed the inside of the A pillars. Each time I flopped it, the windshield popped out and didn't break. I've driven it a lot, but have had issues getting a carb that works right with the 2F. It was discouraging when I bought a defective Mark A carb and no one would believe he'd do a bad carb so I go put a 38mm weber on it. That thing sucked balls and made me long for the single barrel back. That whole thing made me stop driving it. Recently I found a cheap ass Amazon chino carb that definitely wouldn't work, but the guts made the Mark carb work fantastic. The tan one needs some new bearings to fix the oil pressure drop when hot, and I'm going to ditch the crappy Monte Carlo discs on the rear that no proportioning valve can tune right. Besides that, tires. It has a 2F-low miles 4 speed - early transfer case. And if I can ever find an early turn signal indicator switch, that too. They seem unobtanium.
