Great build, just came across it.

Noticed you did not capture alot of the axle with that beefy track bar mount, we have seen a few peeled away from those thin tubes....

Been working on a trac bar. I decided to go with 1.5x1.5 square tube .25 wall.

I used Dan's axle mount. It worked pretty well. I had to open up the tube radius a bit. I'm going to add a gusset across the back of the bracket on the housing.

At the frame end, I did 2 RE joints with a 4" shackle.

The top tube is 48" long eye to eye so it should work pretty well.

Kind of caught the sun with this one.

nice build up...just spent the last 45 minutes reading through the whole thing. i love 60's and love them even more when they're built for the trail. nice work getting the kiddo's involved. we don't have any yet, but both the wife and i are excited to expose them to wheeling. we love it and i hope they will too. anyway, nice work.

Thanks. Getting the kids involved means more family vacations with the cruiser. Mixing my 2 favorites is awesome.

Somehow the wife and kids talked me into sleeping in the cruiser with them @ SnT. Needless to say the wife and I were quite stiff in the morning from waking up in the positions we fell asleep in. It's alright because the kids thought it was great we were all camping in the cruiser.

Thanks for pulling my wifes 3/4 ton 2wd Tow rig through the sand at SnT!

No problem. I was just waiting for the pop of a stock rear shaft as I was doing it. The wife got a kick out of your message yesterday. She was bummed we had to leave but we had to get back.

I'll give ya a call in a bit for the play by play on what we missed.

Little update.

We ran down for SnT Friday evening and came back mid afternoon Saturday. We wanted to stay all weekend but had stuff to come back for.

The rig ran great. Didn't have any problems with it. Some reason the Poker Run turned into a race for us. :meh: (I don't like putting through the sand) The kids loved racing down the beach for the first check point and they were laughing the whole time we railed through the dunes. (except when my youngest fell asleep for the last half of it. ) Of course no rear shocks made it that much more fun. :bounce2: :bounce:

They gave I think 2 hrs. for the run and we were back to the finish in 20 mins. :steer: The Central Valley Crawlers were still putting up their banner when we rolled into their check point. (3 or 4 IIRC)

Had a great time and the whole family is ready to go back again next year, hopefully for the whole weekend.

The girls enjoying some ommlettes for breakfast.

Spent some time playing on the beach. The girls loved that part.

Nah, he decided to work instead of wheel.

I really can't stand sand. BUT, I had an absolute blast out there. The poker run was fun but I think mainly because we were on it the whole time. I was running 30-40 mph the whole time. Still can't believe how well the cruiser held up @ a little bit of speed. Especially with no rear shocks.

Hey Brendon, it was great to see your rig in person. I was at Dan's camp when you were pulling out, but didn't want to bug you and introduce myself. I've been following your build for some time, and want to use some of your ideas when I get a 60.

Great build and love the stance makes the sixty look great!!!

Fun times at SNT :D

I think the entire family had a blast.

Even Mrs. Freds40 had a big grin when she was behind the wheel of the 60.

They all had a great time and look forward to doing it again. It was nice to see that with all the "family oriented" hype that it is true. Great place to take the wife and kids.

Fred, I was eyeing your front end bib trim at SNT,
Got any pics of it? (or have I missed them in the text?)
