You can see the tab I made at the front, a sleeve, the factory bracket, sleeve, second tab, last sleeve, back of factory bracket.

Installed with 1 lead from the alt. to the battery.

For stuff like this and my battery cables, I like to use copper soldered ends so I can cut the cables to fit. You can pick them up @ NAPA and you just need a butane torch and solder.

Is that all you need, that red wire??? :hhmm:

I may have missed it, but you stuffed 39.5 on just a spring over and sawzall mods?

Have any pics of the front and rear inner fenders?

It's sprung over but it's lower than most spring overs as the hangers are tighter to or through the frame (depending on which) . Did a fair amount of trimming already and have a bit more to do.

For the 1 wire alt install, don't the other stock alternator wires need to be connected somewhere?

From the research I've done, the other wires are not necessary. The 1 wire alternator is self fielding so it just needs the 1 lead. I've got the factory wires taped up and tucked into the fender just in case. :meh:

The GM 1 wire just needs the single lead as it's self fielding. The style prior to these use 3 leads, 1 to the battery, 1 that loops to the battery terminal, and the other to the ignition to field the alternator (IIRC)

These are stupid simple. I do have to rev the motor real quick to get it to field if it's sitting still, otherwise it kicks in as you drive.

I'll have to take a pic of my Premier power welder alt for comparison. The guys at premier do a mild mod to the casing so it bolts on without any brackets..

looks good bro ,good to see ya at snt...

Thanks guys. I've been having too much fun cruising around with it to get off my butt and get more stuff done on it. I still have holes on both passenger quarters, still no twin sticks, need bumpers....... (that and I'm up in Petaluma hanging out with my sister for the weekend :D )

The list goes on and on.

Hopefully I'll have time to get the Sag box swapped this week as I have a parade to drive in with my club and the family is all excited. (that was a big motivator to finally get the 1 wire Alt. swapped in). I need to do it soon before I kill my smog pump.

I'd also like to get the stereo hooked up. I've got all the components, just need to get out there and get after it.

Your 60 is looking great man, I can't wait to see in person. Hopefully we can get a run together for early next year some time. . .

Yeah I'd like to get a couple of wagon runs together next season. Heck, maybe even a snow run this winter. I always have a good time snow wheeling and my daughter loves it too.

That is so low on the priority list I'm suprised it is on the list.

It's slowly moved it's way up on my priority list. I can't remember the last trail truck I had a radio in. It gets to be mind numbing when you're on the trail forr a few hors and the only thing you hear is the sputtering exhaust leak. :bang:

I've been using my GPS unit as it stores and plays MP3s (albeit VERY quietly). It works but I want to get something a little nicer in there. I figure, this is a fine luxury automobile, it needs some tunes. Besides, I have a big hole in the dash I need to fill in.

I know that feeling. I'll never go without tunes on the trail again.
