What temp did you go with on the retrobrights? I’m conflicted on what I should put on mine
Modern White.

They don't look like the other LEDs with the little projectors. Just plain looking.

You need a reverse polarization harness to make them work right in a 70 or 60 series.

Amazon sells them cheap.

Oil changed. This is a great idea someone had for a stripped plug.

Is this one late enough in '85 to have the tranny spacer?

Brand new H55 and split via @orangefj45

Transferred all of the old s*** onto the new s***.

It's back on the jack. I think I'll wait until tomorrow to stuff this thing on fresh legs.

I'll be interested to find out if it's "H55 ready." The floor in the 60s changed in 3/86, and I was thinking that's when they made the changes to the transmission interface also.

It's in. About to add the crossmember but I did not do anything to modify it

Someone has been in here and they did a rear main seal and clutch. The flywheel is all cracked up but I had a fresh one here.
IMG_6765.jpeg

Even though I think the clutch was pretty fresh I redid it with a new Aisin setup.
IMG_6766.jpeg

It's in. Fought me a bit because I did not pull the transmission hump so I had to have it just right. Once I did it snicked right in.

IMG_6767.jpeg

The clown that did the rear main seal stripped all the bolts on the crossmember bracket captive nuts.

Fun to follow this one!

Do you have the source for this front hood/radiator seal? I think its was part number: 53381-90A00? Is someone reproducing it?

Thanks!

Test drive went great as expected. It had some stumbles at idle after it got hot before I went into the engine. Most of the vacuum caps were missing and some rotted so adding fresh got rid of that.

Took it for a spin. H55 and 3.70s work great in the flatlands. Speedo is 10 mph slow so 65=75 at 2400 rpm

Pushes along good for a stock 2F with a carburator and stock exhaust.

Going up in the air for some Fluid Film and this one will be ready to ride

Nice.

What size spacers are you using with the 80 series rims?
I did not take the tires off but looking at where they are on the front hub I'd say 1.5" if I was to guess

If you are new to Tilda Bogue you may wonder why I do Fluid Film in the south where we don't have rust issues.

Two schools of thought.

Spend hours cleaning and prepping to paint or hose this old metal with fluid film and let it go to work soaking into the frame.

Using an air sprayer it goes on real thin and in a few weeks this old surface rusted metal will be black again.

Spray painted undersides always look like s***. With fluid film you can overspray anything and it does not look terrible like paint would.

The only thing that sucks is if you have to work on it while it's in the wet stage. Do it after you are done. If you only have cans then I usually let it sit a few days and rub in the excess.

Wow, that speedo and tach reading on that rig is music to my eyes since it's exactly the setup I have in BB. Hoping for similar results ... when I finally get her here in Munich, lol.

This thing left here 30 minutes ago and I've not gotten a call to come pick him up so I'm. Sling it an early win.

Expect to see this one back this summer for a suspension.
