Don't know if it's posted anywhere but figured I'd throw up the tech on removing my pilot bearing.
A few years back, Marlin taught me about removing the pilot hydraulically. You pump grease into the center of the bearing until it is full. Then use a bolt through the center and smack it with a hammer. Pull the bolt, add more grease, insert the bolt, and smack it again. Repeat until it pops out. (took me 3 refills) The force exerted on the bolt will be pushed into the grease. The only place for the grease to go is up against the pilot, slowly pushing it out.

Works pretty good as long as the bolt is a relatively tight fit. For my pilot, I found that a Dana 60 wheel stud fits the bill. (had one laying around) The large flat head is a nice touch as well.

A wooden dowel can also be used, and can be "easily" trimmed down for the proper fit.

WOW that looks super cool

Got the flywheel resurfaced today and Marlin notched the front half of my split case. Threw it together quick like. Busy the next couple of days but hopefully I can get some time on the shift linkage this week.

SM465, MC 22 adapter, 4.7 mini reduction case, MC 23 split case adapter, 2.28 split case bringing up the rear.

With the 4.10s ( ) I'll be running until I can afford the 4.88s, I'll have a 1st gear crawl ration of 2.88:1

Should work out pretty well but I will definitely be using the Dodge and trailer for a bit to get to the trail head.

Alright, H42, adapter, and split case is 25.5" from the front of the tranny (where the bellhousing bolts up) to the mounting surface of the rear output flange.

The sm465, adapter, Toy Box, adapter, and split case is 29.5" from the same locations

Looks like you may have one very short rear driveshaft.

Compaired to what? The drive line should still be 35 to 40 inches. That's the great thing about wagons, lots of wheel base for drive-train mods. I didn't even need to use a double cardin with my 420/toybox.

Brenden, Don't do like I did and expect the stock slipyoke to work. Have Driveline Service bore the yoke and put the long spline in.
