Thanks. Form completed. I noted I didn’t need an install video with the assumption there would be written steps with photos. I installed the SLC wiring harness/upgrade years ago so my starting point is not straight factory configuration. But I should be able to muddle through. Looking for the door lock mod to come down the pike. Thank you.

Anyone here in the SF bay area who would be willing to install and test these for a couple weeks, in addition to myself? Looking for a couple folks with 62s. Each one would be encased in a 3D printed enclosure. Would provide them for free to the testers.
almost willing to drive up from San Diego to be a tester...

tl;dr - make your door switches last forever, make your windows move faster without replacing the tracks, and do it without a rats nest of wiring

Inspired by this thread and the wiring mess I found in my truck today, I decided to design a small (37mm x 33mm, and 20mm high) PCB. Here are some eCAD screenshots - going to get some boards fabbed and tested in my FJ62. This mod will reduce the current passing through your switch contacts from ~7A to ~40mA (0.04A), which means contacts won't arc / pit.

Boards include:
  1. flyback diodes to protect against back emf from the coil discharge on switching.
  2. a side mounted molex connector on there so that you don't have to solder anything - just need to pin in a connector.
  3. automotive grade relays - the relays I chose are capable of sustaining 20A each, so they should last a long time.
  4. 3x 140mm mounting points so you can zip tie or mount to something. In the shipping version I'll probably reduce the hole size and 3D print a little enclosure box...for prototyping I want zip tie access :)
Going to modify the design tomorrow to support a different relay that has both a 12V & 24V coil version, so that I can solder in whatever people need and send them out. If everything tests well I'll implement these in my truck and sell them if anyone is interested.

I, too, would like to throw some of my hard earned money your way for a solution. I have a driver's window that works fine but the other 3 take about a quarter mile to roll up.

I'd love a fix for all 4 windows. Please let me know if your are going to produce some for fellow mudders

Yup! Fix is in the works - please fill out the form!

Any idea what the rough cost will be?
I filled out the form, chose a full set and voted yes to a vid guide but I’m sure written instructions would suffice as well.

Looking forward to the results

Haven't picked a final # yet. I want to make it reasonable & will share more details when I decide.
First gotta make sure everything works as intended - on the bench and in my truck. Stay tuned!
