You are too kind, thank you

So what’s the reason for covering up the turn signal? I know 4x4 lab does it to increase clearance but that’s not what you are after.

What’s the design goal for the bumper besides looks? It obviously isn’t a rock crawler bumper like 4x4 labs, nor does it have the road kill protection of over landing bumpers like Ironman or arb. I simply can’t tell the overall design goal/usecase.

The design goal of this bumper is to provide ample protection to the vehicle, in style, as well as strike a balance between a "full crawl mode" bumper like a 4x4Labs and a "dirt road mode" bumper like an ARB. "Roadkill protection" is available for those who want it.

The turn signals aren't covered, they (along with the valence) are removed and replaced by the LEDs in the bumper. By removing the valance, the bumper can have a very tall cross section which leads to a very strong bumper, while maintaining a very high clearance.

nailed it

To make something that looks cool. No need for the additional marketing wank. There is no need for that fixture nightmare other than aesthetics, which is totally fine, but own it.

Q1. So what’s the reason for covering up the turn signal?

Q2. What’s the design goal for the bumper besides looks?

want a gold star?

This is tempting. More expensive’err than a glass of the finest whisky but just as smooth.

want a gold star?

If you've got one for me, yes please. Can't ever have enough gold stars.

I think that all of the critical questions in your 80 and 100 series bumper threads, especially mine, could have been solved with this:
Q. Why is it so expensive? A. Because of the shape
Q. Why is it shaped like that? A. Because we think it looks cool

There is nothing wrong with something looking cool.

want a gold star?
sorrynotsorry

I’m also at lost with the goal of these posts.

I’m fine with your answers to my questions and like @Somebodyelse5 said there is nothing wrong at all with making it cool looking/style, However style is personal taste. If you go for the style you want especially making it at much higher cost then that may not be for many people here lik me. I don’t care for the sculpted bumper and grill so it looks “mean”, many people have the angry eye Jeeps, not my thing. I’m sure someone would buy it because it looks cool to them.

You should definitely start answering your own questions from now on, you are much better at it then me. Probably time to just agree to disagree as to our design goals though.

None of that was directed at you in any way, was just answering your questions. As far as @nukegoat is concerned, he was being sassy so I assumed he was looking for sass back.

Didn’t realize everybody around here was so sensitive, will have to start toning back the sarcasm.

Now your saying we're all too sensitive, man too far, I can't take the abuse in this thread anymore. :p

Anyway, I think it's a great looking bumper. As was said earlier people will design for high clearance, or for dirt roads, it's hard to accommodate both, it may be a good local alternative to ARB or other non domestically made options.

Clearly the goal is your posts are to push away as many uncool customers like me as possible. Only cool kids that agree 100% with you are allowed, guess my panhard purchase will be my last from you. It’s a shame because I was thinking about the rear bumper but obviously I’m not cool enough. No one but you had any attitude or being snide on this thread, and all questions and suggestions were constructive and you didn’t reply in kind.

As @nukegoat said earlier: “than you, next”

Damn girls please go back to taking your meds! FFS if you like the look awesome if you don't there are other options, open the post look at the bumper, close the post and move on. There is no reason to complain to a company bringing more products to the 80's market. I have said it before and will say it again, why would a company subject themselves to the ridiculous questions and not just go make jeep parts? You do not have to like or agree with every company, how they decide to make their products or their looks, but how can more options be bad? You might not like it, but others might love it.

Glad I changed original wording of "YOU PEOPLE" to "everybody" before hitting submit, good thing I had sensitivity training last week, could've really gotten in trouble.

@Qball, sorry to hear you're unhappy with our online presence, I hope you are at least happy with your panhard lift bracket.

I just think buying this bumper is a vote for domestic protectionism, mercantilism, and government paternalism. If you love FREEDOM and AMERICA then you'd outsource its production and bring the price down to reflect market demand.

But, you know, don't take it from me. Nobel prize winner Friedrich Hayek is just rolling in his grave. Way to go.

Certainly no arguing with that logic

Uhmmmm....while I agree with you on many fronts we all tried to ask questions and bring feedbacks ina constructive manner and wasn’t bashing him at all except we were met with attitude. Again no bashing occured by any of us, I asked questions I have. I asked many questions about the panhard bracket and he answered some but othe mud members feedbacks and pictures finally got me to buy it. This thread was perfectly constructive till his meltdown and start calling people sensitive and other snide comments. LC and Mud in general have been a very positive and supportive community that provides honest and constructive feedbacks. If DVS doesn’t like then then he should go back to his Jeep fanboys.

Yes I bitch about price but I always do. Plus my LX is my sh!t/Costco hauler now and days so she doesn’t get the priority on budget. Then again if I think something is truely worth while then I don’t have a problem with buying something that’s of a good value like DSV’a panhard bracket or my King’s 2.5 shocks or the all the Landtank stuff everyone is complaining about on price. But after research I found them to be of good value and purchased them.

Some people buy based on cool factors but I buy based on function and value. Since it’s my hard earned money I get to send it how I like it and my money won’t be going to DVS anymore.

Qball...

Um you might want to go to decaf buddy.

Honestly, it looks like a great bumper, but it has a ton of bends, many separate pieces that need to be welded together, and it sounds like they put a lot into engineering. There is lots of detail in that thing.

If the argument is "this thing is overpriced" I wouldn't want to participate in that. But he is a supporting member, paying money to the website, keeping the lights on so to speak.

edit: actually I don't think their price is over the top compared to the "ARB's" and similar out there after taking a proper look.

I'm like many other members on here, trying to do things on the cheap and this bumper just isn't something that is high on the list for me, I've built my own and am content with what the crap I've bolted on, and this is beyond my expendable income.

This seems to be more directed to the "Icon" equipped crowd (not knocking them) but expensive restored vehicles or expensive suspension systems for folks that want the ultimate equipment.

My thought is, we may not see alot of DVS stuff on the regular joe/jane's 80 series, but we will may see more of it at SEMA, or on builds where people spend $25K for an engine swap type of thing. Cool, great!

I'm not trying to take sides, but this is a thread created by an advertising vendor to market their product, you being ticked off about not feeling cool enough is a strange thing to be hearing about in it, and you seem angry about things.

Plus, your being a little beotch about being called sensitive.
