Plan to run 33s and the "lift" is mostly to elevate for ease of egress in and out for myself. At 3.5" above where it currently sits, puts the bottom of the door opening at 5' 11 1/2".

My family already has the lifted 80 to despise, so anything less should be embraced.

On seating, had intentions of F250 ABTS seats mounted on ~1" risers, but thinking the seat backs are too thick to still leave knee room in rear seat behind driver.

so you're running 72" boggers??? oh:lol: you meant the bottom of the top of the door opening:flipoff2:

FWIU, the back seat riders can just pound sand- it gives them motivation to grow, get a job, get their own cars, and move tha f--- out. at least that how I felt riding in back > superiority rules and all

I've got 91-92 FJ80 buckets in the front of mine on unknown van bases, I basically removed the seats/sliders from the stock mounts and bolted them to these bases (could be easily fabbed). I'm 6'1" and have good leg room (seats sit pretty high) and have excellent leg room in the back seat with the seats all the way back (better than in an 80). I put some canvas seat covers on them and plan on getting a Tuff-Duck to match the back bench. Just giving you options ;)

I'm happy with my Alcans. They have all the stock specs, and will modify to whatever you want as far as lift, weight rating, etc.

To remove the shell, one would think that best done without any glass.

What's the best way to remove the glass and is there any hope of salvaging the seals since they're chrome ringed?

Delancy needs some inspiration for his piggy

That's pimp....if that's the proper terminology.

Does prompt a thought, though:

Could wrap the '76 like that, making it appear and old school delivery van, marketing a new income endeavor, too? and try out a sausage home delivery business.

I have seats out of a mini van I believe bolted to a roll cage with a cross brace behind the front seats and have good leg room whilst being 6'2". And for the ride height do a small perch soa and take a leaf or two out.

Already posted elsewhere, but for the record.

Drove her home today for a weekend of demo and general inspection.

Yes, that's a real store name.

Got about two hours in this afternoon, before family matters tore away, but..,,

Headliner disintegrated in my hands.

Dread the day the '72s goes in. Glad one isn't planned for this Pig.

The news. It appears the floor pans are solid.

Thinking a surprise awaits in the roof channel.

Sucks.

Was the first time Mrs. Delancy has seen any of my Pigs and I was astounded to hear her say that she'd like to drive it, thought it was awesome.

Chris,

That is awesome! I can't imagine what life would be like, if the better half was not on board with pig building. Would make for some quite dinners.

Which wagon are the painted parts for?

Big like to this. She must be a keeper.

I knew there was a reason for hesitation....bahaha.

I heard...

"Now, you're not going to turn it into a monster truck like the other one. I can actually see driving it, and you're not going to go crazy on it, like the others!"

"Is this one supposed to be green? I really like the color it is."

"Just because I like the Pig, does NOT mean that I'm "in the mood" to consummate in it!"

"Yeah, I'm going to drive it. I love it. Love the wagon, love the four doors, love how big it looks....not driving it everyday, but I am going to drive it. Can it stay that color of orange?"

"Why not?!?!"

Hahaha.

Rob,

The parts depicted are for the '76. Bought the timing cover, dented side cover, and big cap from 3 puppies, and it looked normal.....with a 1/2" of sludge coating.

Ran those through a buddy's washer and they cleaned up very well , but the timing cover gasket still did not remove. It's incredible.

Think I've found a product and even an applier that will blast, epoxy prime, and top coat in a product that I can use for the rest of everything, for about $10 a part.

That's cheaper than I can blast, so what I can have done now, I am.

The place I spoke to was Precision Coatings they do PC, ceramic, industrial paints, rubberized paints, and cost pistons, rods, cylinders, all kinds of high temp stuff for national accounts.

I was frustrated due to the PC on the 80 falling apart after one snow storm, so I asked what he would suggest. Turns out , he's a car guy and, pretty much said, out of all the coatings at his disposal, this is what he uses on classic Fords and suggests to other local individuals.

Sold me.

Little duller than 202, but I'll live with it.

Have a pile to take Monday, that I'm adding to this weekend. Even going to re-coat the OE parts, since it's claimed a much more durable product and $10 a part.

Big like to this. She must be a keeper.

Keeper long before.

I'm a lucky man, in all honesty, and don't deserve the woman I have.... plus, she's smoking hot
( not said bragging. We're too old for that.) but I did say "I didn't know it'd be possible to love you anymore, but I do."

To which she replied:

"Ahhhh, but you're still not getting any today,"

Bahahahaha.

Not certain what's the best course of action to repair this:

Have a fair earlier door, but thinking they're different from the later.

Think the lower frame could be sectioned in?

Later skin and glass transplanted to earlier frame?

Match? J/K. I used a chisel if I could get a good lip. But everything else I use a 4 inch angle grinder with a 60 grit sanding wheel. You can go cheap if you just have a drill and this works good. Ware a hat and glasses.

Tips on removing the padding?

Stiff wire brush ain't putting a dent, nor did a flat bladed shovel.

Chris,

That's the worst of jobs and what stage of removal, depends on your plans for recovering. I took mine all the way down to bare metal, so the paint would stick. If you're just going to reinsulate with a padding and headliner, then just get the loose stuff with a sharp putty knife. A cheap multi tool from HF, worked for me also.

In the end, I used a propane torch, heated the glue and scraped off.

Good luck, my friend!

My first thought, as I glanced across the garage for available options, was a small torch, this after about thirty minutes trying to peel portions off.

Have a grinder with a wire wheel, various grit wheels, so will try next.

Was thinking about, but not wanting to decimate the paint.....for what reason I don't know.
