That’s quite a whim. Good for you. That’s great!

Is Hemmingway’s bar still around?

I posted a standalone thread about my new VSS kits, but for my own truck I had a special one made with provisions for a fill plug and a GM temperature sensor. Going to see what happens to split case oil tempuratures at different speeds considering we are doing these conversions so people can cruise longer trips at higher speeds.
Also will be nice to move my VSS signal from the rear axle so I can loose those wires running down the rear axle/brake hose.

The fill plug is becuase my 2nd crossmember/mount blocks the original, I welded a port into my PTO cover a few years ago when I did that project but I did it at a higher heigght thinking I would add capacity.. an entire extra 1.5 quart. Turns out the quart just leaks out the ouput seal like crazy  So this one is just a little higher then stock (about .5-.7")

Now to put this shiny part on the shelf until I install it probably year from now

I have all kinds of other cool stuff I have been collecting to put on.. it's all just been sitting. Have had new FROR billet high steer arms, new heims, billet pitman arm, 25mm trunion upgrade etc to redo all my high steering sitting for probably 2.5-3 years now. I actually can't find the box of parts in my office now!

My guys actually fixed my AC leak and we re did some of the lines to my condensor to make the routing a bit better a few months ago, and that has been holding up well. However my blower motor has been super weak for YEARS. I did find new Denso/OEM blower motors so going to put one of these in.. only been on the shelf for 6-8 months now.
The shop is finally getting to the point where I can relax a little so hopefully we start seeing a little progress on my own projects in the near future.. motivation is starting to show signs of return.

I’ve only had this WagonGear tailgate sitting new in my office for the last year. Decided to put it in this evening.
So excited about this so I can finally get a bunch of the floating junk out of the cargo area and 1/4 panels of the truck. I have a few creative ideas of my own for extra storage but this one is a no brainer.
I think this tailgate panel was the first thing I saw when I first logged onto Mud at 15 years old, feels surreal to finally have one on my own rig

Think I need some of Spencer’s @orikawa 1/4 panels next :hmm:

I also want to build a legit holder for my spare tire.. so over the ratchet strap.

May need to bang out your quarter panels first to get more room:flipoff2:

Funny, I actually want to get away from storing anything in the 1/4’s except for maybe very-low use case parts I carry (like clutch slave/master, fuel pump, fuel lines). All the common stuff like fluids, brake hoses, hose clamps, vacuum line, wire I feel I end up using every trip and usually for other people, and it’s so annoying to pull the huge spare out

I’m thinking about building some metal storage boxes underneath the body in the available dead space (there is quite a bit). Between the rockers and sliders, under the 1/4 panels, etc. ideally universal so we can sell them as well.

Same here, but more because my quarters can store very little these days, and what is in there gets flattened lol

I feel this deeply. I carry qtr straightening tools to get my tails reinstalled for the trip home

Me too lol

These days if a trail doesn’t have body damage risk it’s too easy.

My poor truck

In case anyone doesn't remember, my NV4500 actually still has a wiped bearing or something from the road home from GSMTR last year. I have still been driving it but it sounds like a metal blender and shakes the truck hard at high speed, and I am just beyond caring about hurting it further but it doesnt seem to be breaking (including driving it 800 miles to the Keys and back in December) so I just keep driving it as I have been spending money in other places.

Well February was a good month for the business so I finally bought myself the most expensive indiviual car part I have bought for myself yet. :bounce:
Now just to wait for it to arrive.
I will be retaining the NP203 doubler for now, but I have a customer who will also be installing one of these into his 62 with the standard transfer case behind it so CruiserMatt's will be coming out with a line of products for putting the TR4050 into 60/62 like stock-appearing shift handle, transfer pivot bracket/linkage kit, crossmember, reverse light wiring etc.

Looks clean. What are your plans for coatings?

:bounce:

This bad boy finally arrived!
Unfortunately it will be sitting for a few months while I finish up some other projects so can have space to use one of the deeper shop bays. I would like to, for once, actually take my time on one this and fix a few other issues that have been bothering me for almost a decade now.

Started designing new transmission tunnel top panel, on top of completely re doing the tunnel I am going to move the transfer shifters to the driver’s side for easier reach when belted in.
