Maybe you saw my post in the What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week? thread, but I have some new seat covers to put on my seats. They came from Cruiser Corps and I am really pleased with them. I may have put the bottom on the wrong side, but still not sure. I just think so because of how the lines don't match up. I was a little bummed seeing that but it's not a huge deal if I have to redo that. Even the holes should somewhat match up on the other seat and/or will be covered up if that is the case. If any of you know if these are sided, please let me know.

Old covers are going in the garbage for the passenger side at least. The driver's side is in decent condition and I might be able to pass it along to someone for cheap.

The jump seat covers are actually in really good condition, but for the sake of matching interior I'm going to also be replacing them with similar Cruiser Corp covers. Those will be some other things I'll likely be passing on to someone who needs to recover theirs. Not sure if they are stock covers, but they seem even a better quality cover than the Cruiser Corps imo.

Lastly, I received these in the mail today. I feel like an official member of the landcruiser community now.
Btw, where should I put this TLCA plaque, in the landcruiser somewhere, toolbox, somewhere else? What do people do with these? They're pretty cool like little aluminum plaques, I thought they were just a decal.

I'm leaning toward the procar's because they have headrests and my stockers don't. I can't seem to find stock headrests for my 2/76 that aren't $$$$$.

Soooo sweet, boy those look great! I've been going back and forth between recovering my stock seats and new bottom cushions or the Procar seats that are popular here on Mud. I'm leaning toward the procar's because they have headrests and my stockers don't. I can't seem to find stock headrests for my 2/76 that aren't $$$$$.

I hear you. I happened to find 2 single headrests separately. I think maybe buying them one at a time cost less because not everyone is just looking for 1 but would probably need both.

Thanks for your comments on the seats. I really like how they turned out. I'm going to post the pictures for the driver's side done. Btw the driver's side lined up better, so I think ultimately it just depends on how you stretch the covers. But I'm very happy with the seats and can't wait to try them out while driving.

Here's the driver's side seat I finished up today. You can see the previous covers were not much better than the passenger side. Also I added a few layers of some quilting cotton liner (it's all I could find) because the spring was coming through and some of the cushion had worn away from getting in an out of the vehicle over the years. You can also see that I had previously put some temporary covers over the old covers. I got them from someone a few years ago as a temporary fix with the intention of one day changing them out completely. That day was today.

I recently bought some braided fuel line hose for the piece that is a breather/overflow line. It looks like new now and really nice. If anyone needs some for their own landcruiser let me know. I bought a 10ft role but this only uses about 1ft. So I'm willing to pass some on to others for some cruiser karma. Just pay the shipping and I'll cut the length and send it.

Finished up with the upholstery and I think it turned out really good. Today I removed the conferr bench seat and threw in the jumpseats along with a rear floor mat from City Racer. I'm not sure how long I'll leave it, but I won't sell the bench seat quite yet in case I want to go back to that.
I really like the floor mat, it is thick and matches the front vinyl well, and I'm glad I got went with that one over some others I've seen.

Since I've been playing Toyota mechanic, I figured I would play dress up like one. Also tired of messing up my T-shirts.

So that City Racer floor mat was one of the teased pictures from the boxes in a previous post. The other box had these bad boys. So I changed out the old ones and they look much much better.

Ok now I'm just waiting on that vintage AC unit to get here and I'm just about ready to throw everything else back in once that's done.

Last thing I did for today was fix some of the wiring including running the speaker wire down the firewall and down the bottom of the frame to the back then up the back where I have speakers mounted. Finally, no more loose speaker wire running through the cab.
I used these shrink wrap wire connectors that when heated they shrink and have a little piece of solder that melts and solders the wires together. Worked pretty well and looks clean too.

Looking awesome! How hard was it to do the upholstery on the front bucket seats yourself? I did the jump seats, but paid someone to do the front seats because it seemed super hard...I tried and struggled quite a bit. It was spendy. So I guess what I am really asking is did I completely waste my money, or was it reasonable to pay someone?

I wouldn't go so far as to say it was a waste of money, but it definitely is something you can do yourself. Took me a couple nights after work for both front seats. They're pretty simple with the right tools and hog rings/pliers, even more so if the seat covers are falling apart because it makes it easier to remove. The rear jump seats are actually easier when you use bayline(sp) wire. Not sure how much you paid and how much you consider your time is worth, but yest it can be done relatively easy. If you have the covers for front I would give it a go.

Ok so my Vintage AC unit is finally on its way. I guess their lead time was a longer than I originally thought or was told, but it'll be here soon enough. Meanwhile I've tried to not to lose too much time so I've done a few smaller tasks that needed to get done anyway.

Shout out to @ToyotaMatt for the awesome pieces I got from his store, but on top of that he sent some awesome cruiser karma my way in the form of some fresh hardware nuts and bolts as well as some new pieces for fuel cover and fuel drain plug cover. Highly recommend if you're in the market for any of these pieces, very nice quality on everything.

I wanted to wrap the heads to block a little bit of the heat. Hopefully it eliminates a little bit of the heat. I figured I would go with the white wrap color to match the engine color scheme.

So next posts will be around me installing the AC unit. I'm sure that will take me a few days at least depending on my work schedule and time to work on it.

One last thing I just ordered was some kennel flooring from FarmTek to line the floor of the conferr roof rack. I've seen people do this and I think it was a better option than wood or metal which I think would be much heavier. That'll be it's own little project itself, but should be fun.

The other day I started in on the new Vintage Air unit install. I will just say it does seem a little overwhelming at first. You have 3 big boxes full of stuff and not sure how it will all come together, but the instructions are pretty clear and straight forward. Some of the instructions say things like you may have to do this or you should do this or that, let me just say from my experience so far I had to do what they're saying. I thought I could cut corners like not moving the seatbelt warning or buzzer relay, but it actually does need to be moved. I've mocked it up and drilled the necessary holes I think so next step is to bolt it in place here in the next day or two. Wish me luck.

This is only mocked in place for now.

I crossed off each step that I completed in order and it seemed to help me focus. It’s not really an install that you can jump around on. Looks great.
