My equally non-engineer answer: I would not use my gutter mount clamps, or anyone elses, on a fiberglass gutter. As for other mounting options, I would start a thread to get opinions and advice on anchors in fiberglass.😊

Awesome. I'll be calling this week. Edit: actually a question. I have a Gozzard roof, so it is full fiberglass, including the gutter. Would that make a difference? I think in some ways fiberglass is supposed to be plenty strong, but I don't...

Well, I was all set to throw in the towel on these, and my laser cutter made me a deal I could live with to produce one last batch. IOW, I have a fresh batch of clamps…for now. I guess the best news for you all is that, much to my surprise, I can...

On the overheating problem, new thermostat from @ToyotaMatt seems to be working great. I'm running 195-200 degrees on average, which I think is just right for the 3FE. Drove it up a long freeway hill at speed to see how hot it would get. Last...

Thanks for this suggestion. I think it did the trick. I had it backed off 1/4 turn from fully tight, per most instructions I read. I went ahead and backed it off an additional 1/4 turn. This made it feel slightly better, but still sketchy...

Decided to post my build here post completion. A big thanks to this forum, tons of info and knowledge here! This build is really not too much different from what you’ve already seen except for my choice of engine/trans. I completed most of the...

No wheel spacers but that could be because I retro fitted 79 series brake calipers in the front, plenty of clearance in the rear with 80 series calipers. Here a couple of pics of the current setup with a little poke. 4th pic is with my prior...

Last but not least I replaced the 16” wheels and 255 85 16’s with 17” fj steels and 35 11.5 17 Nitto trail grappler m/t. Surprisingly quieter than the 255 Yokohama Geolanders Also upgraded the suspension to Ome Bp51’s front and rear with Ome 2”...

@Curtice in regards to your steering, along the lines of what Nolen suggested, i read comments in another post elsewhere about adjusting too tight at center wheel position making the box too tight as the wheel is turned. Here is the post (#57)...

Thanks again. Yeah sorry I didn’t mention I have one. I just wasn’t sure if I was using it right or how to tell if the system is fully burped or not.
    • Curtice
Thanks. Is there a way to tell if it needs burping?

They are they Icon 4x4 seats. ICON Jump Seat Frame Set - https://shop.icon4x4.com/products/icon-jump-seat-frames They need some feet still, I’ll need to figure that out. For now, they work just fine for kids, which is pretty much the only people...

My 3fe needed a lot of burping . Overheated on the maiden voyage.didnt trust the gauge so went dakota after that. I finally used this to burp with great success. OEMTOOLS 87009 No-Spill Coolant Funnel Kit, Near Universal Fitment, Translucent, 15...

Annual summer drive to this dealer 20 km west of Cranbrook, BC that always has a selection of Landcruisers . Prices range from $6500-$37000 Cdn. The asking price for the FJ45s is $20000. Good thing this far from my home and I have no room for...

Thanks Matt. Actually, it doesn’t totally seem natural to go back to the straight position. It does on the big turns, like around a corner (obviously). But on smaller turns like bends in roads, kinda hard to tell. I think I would probably call...

Ah…hack/jack. Got it. Lol Yes, I did that and everything felt smooth. Also verified their is no play (wheels turn with the steering wheel…even a very slight turn of the steering wheel turns the wheels).
    • Curtice
Thanks again…sorry what do you mean hack the front up and steer it?

Thanks it was redhead steering boxes. They are usually pretty good, I think?

Wait,,,did I do my shims backwards? With no shims, I am at negative 1.7 caster. To add shims to get to positive caster, would the fat end of the shim go towards the front of the front axle, or towards the rear of the front axle? I put the fat...

retightened the center arm. Maaaaaybe a bit better? But still kinda squirrely - it's the worst going around turns. Let me see if I can describe...the road begins to curve. I will turn the steering wheel and the cruiser starts to turn a little...

On the center arm. Take the M10 on the top. Loosen it. Tighten the cover all the way then back it off 1/4 turn. Lock back with the M10 on the top.

Thank you Matt! And thanks for taking time to help me diagnose these issues. I think your guidance on the fuel tank pressure issue was exactly what I needed.
