Also added the 2F sticker to the Mosley monster.

Nice work! Not too far from you. In Rowlett, 10 mins from CCOT.

Thanks. I've made a few trips over there grabbing some parts. Sure have enjoyed reading about your mechanical adventures with your sons. You appear to be a great Dad! Cheers.

Rewinding to some time ago. Adding some posts to this thread for remembering the journey...

Refurbed the turn signals. Replaced lenses, seals, hardware and mounting grommet. Color changed from OEM gray to black to match color scheme accents of the build. SEM prep and paint products rock.

Restored the steering wheel. Turned out great thanks to all the tips from @Birdhead !

Installed ss braklines from classic tube. Lines to master will be after i get body back in place. Ignore the shock reservior placement, they were in the way. :) Bends were very close to oem, just a few tweaks required. Soft lines for rear came with TSM mfg. disc conversion kit, plus front from BTB.

I restored the NLA hard line clips along frame with plasti dip rubber. Easy as pie. Looks like it's back to original condition.

Gotta love that smooth frame, clean joints and glistening hardware….

Now that the condenser and compressor are in place figured I'd start installing the evaporator unit in the cab. Have it in place to mark the drill holes in the floor of the glovebox for the support bracket. Everything lines up well so far.

May wind up final install later depending on how much room I will need to get wiring harness and switches back in. Still need to decide if I want to use the 3 switch spots that were for the fan, fresh and warm pull. Im not really digging the knobs that came with the kit plus you have to drill out the existing holes to fit them. Seems like there is someone who has the OEM style knobs that will work. I'll need to do a lil mud research on that. I know this isn't a pure resto, but the OEM knobs just look right to me. Don't want to add in some oddballs to the dash if I can avoid it. It would be fine, just not my preference.

@MAR FJ40 i feel the same way…my 40 is not purist level…close …but still has some “updates” that are not noticeable immediately. When I make any changes …I look for the impact on performance versus cosmetics. I do think I have seen OEM style dash switches somewhere that look stock. If not…3D printer !!

Preliminary search shows that Redline has some that look OEM style but are billet aluminum. The search continues....

Body/front clip/hood adjsuted. Lines up "good enough". Right and left front blinkers mounted. Added the hood hold downs as well as the hood prop and hood latch.

Tranny cover back in place (only need a few more M6s to finish it up) as well as the shifter boots. Got the holes drilled in the floor of the glovebox for the evaporator mount bracket. Added in the defrost ducts. Done on AC until I get the harness and switches in place.

Your truck looks fantastic. I wish I had a body to bolt stuff to, someday. BTW, @Cruiser Cult sells the filler neck to tub viton gasket. Mine is the 3 hole style, they sell both versions.

@Engineer8000 Thanks for the compliments on the rig. I'm not a mechanic but I like to learn and do :). Great tip on the @Cruiser Cult gasket - I just ordered one. I guess you saw the raunchy edges of the old one in my pics. It doesn't have any holes or tears but is pretty thin and not so rubbery anymore. Perfect time to get it done right. Thanks again!

Sourced OEM sunvisors and used some SEM products to turn em black. Also installed the newly painted wiper arms.

I've been going through the harness. Cleaning all connectors and adding a dab of dielectric grease. Wires and almost all connectors are in great shape. Have some tesa tape ready to rewrap once it's time. Electrical components including a new fusable link on order with @Coolerman.

Ordered and installed LEDs on everything with a bulb. Pic below shows part #s from www.superbrightleds.com . Everything fits, just haven't powered it all up yet. Also installed the LED flasher relay on the side of the pedal housing in the OEM location. I have a connector to plug it into the OEM harness on the way from @Coolerman

Fabbed up a small L bracket to mount the Sniper display. It uses the OEM bolt for the steering column. Fits in the nook perfectly. Also hides some of the electric power steering mechanism.

Installed all the dash switches. Wound up going with with Redline billet aluminum OEM "style" for the vintage AC controls. Also added switches and Redline knobs for the ARB dual air compressor. One for air, one for the rear locker. The Redline "Front Lights" knob is for the light bar yet to be acquired. Waiting on that until I settle on a roof rack. I need to whiten' up the cigarette lighter a bit. I plugged the vacant spot for now, but may add a dual USB-C charger port there in the future. I ain't giving up my cigarette lighter even though I don't smoke. Never know when you may need some fire. Haha

When I got carried away with SuperBright that bill was over $165.00 but made. Big difference in visibility and I’m still using the stock flasher. I did find not every cross-reference was accurate
