Glad you were able to spend some quality time with your dad. Sorry to here of your illness. I am glad you pulled through. I hope to see you guys in August.

@Goldbug I really appreciate you sharing. Love the pic of your son wrenching. Way cool. It’s a lot easier when you work together on something you both don’t know. I find it’s better than teaching them. It’s an equal playing field of figuring it out and that failing is part of it. Try to limit teaching to the use of tools. Please share your journey thread with me when you can. Love to be alongside it.
That’s excellent advice and perspective @ceylonfj40nut . Sounds like you’ve gained a lifetimes worth of perspective lately. Very glad to hear you pulled through and had quality time with family. Keep up the great work

^^^ What they said. Welcome back 🍻

Glad to see you back CD. I can relate to the family issues as we are facing similar things with my dad. He lives in the south of France and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s last year. His Health is deteriorating fast and we try to go there as often as possible But with restrictions and work it is tough.

Its weird to see this from this perspective as it is similar from 30 to 35 years ago when it happened to his parents.

It’s sad to witness. Health is wealth. Glad to be back. Hope you can get to spend time with him while he is coherent.

My current vice did most things but the swivel base sucked. So I sought @FARMAN33 advice on vices since he has an amazing collection. Landed on this Athol 4 1/2” vice locally. Made to last for sure. Going to clean it up, service it, and BLO it. No paint. This should last the Elves grandkids. This will be good upgrade.

Nice upgrade. Any suggestions for someone looking for something similar? Craiglist/FB Marketplace or did you scour estate sales?

All the above. They are out there. Patience and you will find.

Nice find, they make a Nice side project.
For the second one 😉 get one with removable yaws, it is nice to use some softer yaws every now and then.

What’d you call me?!

Nice CD. You don’t realize how much you use your vise(s) until there isn’t a good one around. I snagged this baby for $80 at a roadside junk sale.

CD has recently made another cruiser purchase for the elf barn. He’s getting dangerously close to starring in an episode of hoarders at this point :hmm:

I hear investing in cars is better than giving your money to the bank.
With the current inflation money has no value and with the shortage of cars (there is a boat loaded with Porsches and Bentleys heading for the US on fire and a drift) prices are going up.
Cars are solid investments now. At least that is what I tell my wife And I would appreciatie you guys backing me up on this.🤔
