Well thought my gear oil leak was from my front output seal but after replacing it and still getting oil inspected further to see cracks in the Tcase.

As mentioned during our phone conversation, those are casting ridges, not cracks.

Got a pic?
Drive to a wedding yesterday about 100 miles. Crawled under 60 to see the obvious trail from the back of the bolt hole.

Sure enough the bolt has hand tight.

Removed bolt and put some RTV on the threads and tightened it back in. Checked all the other bolts and they were good.

What bolt is that doesn't look oem?

I see mostly non-OEM bolts …… but that particular one looks like a bolt for the AA adapter.

Looks like 2F Flywheel bolts on the output housing.

Personally I like to drill and helicoil the AA adapters up to the Toyota M12 size and use the OEM Toyota bolts to fasten the transfer to the adapter. Especially behind a torquey engine like a 4BT. The cheap and undersized hardware (and frequent lack of dowel pins) is the biggest fault of their product in my view

There are 4 long bolts that go through the case into the advanced adapter.

The bolt which was hand tight has this symbol on the head.

There’s 5 Allen head bolts that pass through the case and stick out the other side.

Loaded up for trip to the Crater Lake property with my buddy Travis. Should be a chill trip. My only plan is to tile my shower in the bath house and plant 25 Quaking Aspen trees.

The family is headed down Fri-Tuesday. Plan to do some fishing at Diamond Lake. Check out Crater Lake and do some more exploring.

Very true and I agree.
However, I prefer time-serts; can’t stand helicoils.

Very cool. Have a great trip!!!!

Thanks Georg! You were right about the casting flaws. Super awesome to have experience on this site! That loose bolt was the source of the split case fluid leak.

Glad you got it figured out.

Yeah I’ve worked on a few of these …….. I think I have 6 of them torn apart right now.

Got the the Crater Lake property. Almost 21 mpg hauling the boat and gear averaging 70 mph at 2000 rpms. The HX-30 Super is amazing on hills. With the HX-30 I’d need to downshift due to EGT getting quickly over 1250F but not with the HX-30 Super, I can not only stay in 5th gear on mountain grades but maintain over 30 psi of boost. An amazing upgrade. Oh not to mention the turbo spool!

My buddy Travis’s property

Started framing Travis’s shower yesterday after settling into. Installed his shower liner and poured the self leveler last night. Made Philly Steak sandwiches last night. As always a great getaway! The family and friends are coming Friday so hope to have the showers at his and my property done. If anybody is interested in buying lots here they are affordable. Power at the road and wells 50’-100’ deep. Standard septic. Here’s the tread of where it all began in 2019.
