Before you upgrade or change your alternator, you might try replacing the brushes. I imagine your 93 has well over 100K miles, they do wear out. Edit: brushes are a lot cheaper than an alternator. And I replaced mine without taking the alternator...

We typically us the 80 series booster as it is a bolt in and an upgrade. We have aftermarket and OEM depending on your budget. Plenty of stock here in Orlando. Could have one in your hands next day.

Since I've added an OEM radiator from Murray Aftermarket, my AC woes have disappeared. The truck wasn't overheating on the coolant circuit, but it was running hot enough to reject the heat from the condenser.
