Got the backlighting to work. On the 3 wire harness there is a red 12V and black negative and a white wire. I connected this to the white for the inverter. Realized the white off the power is for the headlights. Found the headlight wire and walaaa! Connected the blue high beams and it’s illuminating the high beam light too. Now the fun of stuffing into the dash.

Drove it home from my buddy Brian with temp gun to check my water temp.

Scenery on the way home is hard to beat.

With the heat gun I noticed the front of the motor runs hotter than the back. I stopped 3 times on the way back to check temp and the front was always 5-10F hotter.

Got home and let 60 idle. Water temp got up to 180F by time I climbed up 1,000’ in elevation from Eagle Fern Park. The fans didn’t come on at all. Let the 60 idle and temp climbed to about 205F and still no fans. Time to play with the Derale fan controller. Turned off 60 and slowly backed off on the temp screw. The first fan came on and ran. May need to adjust but it came on at about 180F.

My 4WD lamp won’t light up in the instrument panel. Bulbs are good. Under the 60 on the t-case is I believe the switch that turns the light on when put into 4WD.

The wires got cut somewhere along the swap. Does the switch unthread from the case?
I also found the same colored wires from the lamp in engine bay on the passenger side. Are these the ones that go to the 4WD switch on the T-case?

Yes the switch unthreads from the case i can get a pic tomorrow of the reverse light and 4wd light plug both are in the same pigtail

@tmxmotorsports do you have a 4WD transfer case switch?

Also due to crankcase breather dripping oil onto my concrete I’m thinking of adding a catch basin filter. I plumb for a living so thinking of putting it on the 3/4” poly pipe I ran off the breather line.

The reverse light wiring is along with it do your reverse lights work i know the nv4500 has its own reverse light switch on it

The reverse switch looks like it’s this port from what I can tell. Felt like there’s threads in there.

I guess this is all the nitty gritty that needs to get buttoned up.

I got my reverse switch from All State gear with other parts. I then needed the pigtail and got reamed at Napa for $23 which was more than the switch. For the 60 4wd indicator a 80 series switch will work but you would need a pigtail also. I like them better due to being cheaper (Napa) and don’t have the integrated pigtail that seems to break off.

The switch basically threads into the Tcase right, just like how the reverse switch goes into the NV4500.

What’s that 4WD transfer case switch called or part number?

Yup. Same type switch. I think the official name for the 4WD switch is "4wd indicator switch". I believe the 80 series reverse switch is the same and that's the one people are using for their 4WD switch since it's cheaper.

This is good to know, thanks for sharing this.
