almost got the other fixed window in but not quite. got an independent auto glass dude coming out tomorrow for the windscreen.. if he has time ill throw money at him to do the 3rd row glass too..

Had trouble kicking this sickness but finally got a solid day in the shed.

Got the parcel shelf for the kid seats to anchor to fabbed up:

And got the front seats and seatbelts all bolted in for the last time (hopefully):

I've just gotta re-tap the bolt holes for some of the 2nd row belts before I finish up that part of the interior... Yes the dash and wiring a still needed but I want to get the engine bay inner fenders in place first to support wiring, etc. which is next on my list.

Can you show me some pictures of your front seatbelt anchor points. I'm at that stage and am interested to see what others are doing.

Sure thing! I'm just using the B pillar bottom bolt to retain the inertia reel..

And I've had to drill through the floor and bolt in the fixed end of the belt after discussions with my engineer. I had wanted the fixed end of the belt to share the same bolt of the inertia reel but it put a twist in the belt.

My floor has 75x75x5mm angle running on the inside of the sills and do not require plating on the underside, so just drill, 7/16 UNF bolt with a a spacer on top and spring washer/nut underneath.

Made a turbo inlet flange from the exhaust manifold out of 10mm plate last night:

and after fiddling with a few bits of steam pipe:

with a rough position for the turbo somewhere around here:

I ended up with this:

I'll tack it together tonight and make sure its all good before burning it in for good.

did some more work last night but found another problem to solve. oil drain runs into the engine mount. gonna fab a dump pipe to see how far back i can move the turbo

might be able to get a 45deg angle fitting on that oil drain. if not ill need to make an oil drain that has an angle to it to clear.

think thatll be where will stay. id need a custom manifold to do a better job. everything clears now so ill run with that

adapter and dump welded up. i braced the adapter on 2 sides with 10mm scrap. i will also make a support out of 5mm that bolts to the dump pipe flange on the turbo and one of the oil filter housing bolts like the factory setup does. still need to cleanup the adapter a bit but that can wait

i also need to find some stuff like this so i can make a gasket from exhaust to adapter. oh and drill and tap for the egt probe, pre turbo.

Tip - try and dislodge all the internal weld splatter before you assemble...your turbo will thank you.

yep. ill run a die grinder around the inside to do that.

yep. nothing fancy though and its getting tired too cos it somes is slow to kick in even with delay set right down.

yay, everything still clears after welding it all up. now working on the exhaust..

going to have to massage the body I think to get a cross over pipe between the body and cross member. im hoping wrapping that section in exhaust tape is enough for the engineer.
