Hey Chris!

Yeah, I freaked the first time that happened to me...back in 1986. Learned the best thing was just to shut her down on level ground and let it sit for about half an hour. If I ran it, it just kept smoking. I've also taken to running a little less than recommended oil level when I know I've got some heavy wheeling on the schedule. The factory service manuals are not the Bible, just a handy reference guide. You can still think for yourself.

Take care.

Mark

Thanks for the tip Mark.
I'll try that next time.

My mother found a pic of the cruiser from 25+ years ago and by daughter took this pic!!
What a transformation!!

It's funny Chris, I've been subscribed to your thread here right from the gate, but didn't know you then...
Now, knowing you and the truck personally, then seeing this thread pop back up brings it full circle for me, great build man!
Happy New Year!

Replacing the tired old seats in the 40. I traded I mud member for a set of Audi seats. I would advise anyone doing this to look at a difrent brand these were a pain in the A$$ to get the mounts to fit. (But the price was right) At least with keeping the original under seat storage and the seats Hight adjustment it was. But I think it was worth it. The passenger seat I am going to remove the hight adjustment part. The gas tank sets to high already.

Doing some rust preventing. Put a new paint job in one side. I like it. I need to do the other side

Git-er-done auto body! Same overspray as half the body shops I've seen in LA, and you never had to leave home! :bounce:

Here is the next project. Already off to a costly start. :bang:
Already I ordered the wrong size rod ends. :censor:

Oh man, that has ‘snap, crackle, pop’ written all over it.

It’s been a bit sense I’ve updated my build thread. I finally got around to fixing my rusted out flywheel cover.

Installed my 4.88 gears after finally breaking a corse spline pinion and added some diff protection.

I also got the hydro assist hooked up and running good but do not have pics on my phone of the setup.

I also won a set of BFG KM3’s at the ONSC’s Relic Run last year.

The last couple of times out I’ve had carb issues. So the next evaluation?
Sniper EFI!
It’s ordered a 2300 unit but they are on back order. So I’m collecting hose, AN fittings, electric pump, and adapter. I’m using a surge tank for my electric pump to start. I will end up putting it in my tank but just can’t pull the trigger and drill out my original tank.
In the meantime I’m fixing my daughter’s new used car.

Sniper is here. Time to get my daughters car out of the garage and the cruiser in!

Didn’t have to wait too long 😎

Got the throttle linkage and cable sorted out. Started to get the surge tank mount and fuel lines figured out.
