Rear glass in. Was easier than I thought it would be. Have not put the gasket spacer in, but have a roll from Jason that for that job.

Just installed the rubber gasket insert from @reevesci. As he said to me, silicon and some special tool and it's not a tough job. He was spot on. I don't know the name of the tool, but I used one of the nylon interior panel removal tools and it was not bad at all. I have to believe these rubber inserts perform better than OEM. They really displace the gasket material creating a solid seal on the paint/glass sides. Thanks again J.

I usually use a big wide flat head screwdriver to do that job, but I'm sure the special tool made it easier! Looks great!

Here is the tool I recommend for this to make it even an easier install.

IT'S ALIIIIIIVE!!!

Looks Jim! I'm so happy that didn't roll down the hill into Jeff's truck the other day! Haha.

Glad the carb worked and brought Frankenstein back to life. Can I borrow your permanent tires when McGuire's done with them.... just until you get the 12HT swapped in man? Thanks!

You do need to try that pair of shoes out. Will give you an idea of what your ride will look like with 33'sgot the two doors for the drivers side broke down. Ready to do some mild body work and paint prep.

To explain Ryan's comments... my sister in law leaned against the back of this 60 and it started to roll. Front wheels were out the door and it was heading downhill towards Jeff Monroy's Taco. I had a workbench between me and the 60 but Ryan, Cody @cwwfj60 and his father were in the right side of the bench (with their backs to the 60). I was freaking out and they turned around and grabbed the 60 before it skated down the hill unmanned into Jeffs company truck. All that work literally flashed before my eyes. I usually keep it in gear but we had just finished running it trying to diagnose my carb issue. Also, my sister in law had already had a few drinks so I imagine she did not realize how much weight she was applying to the back side. Good times!!!

Got the carb sorted out (borrowed one from Ryan @CaptClose ) and it runs after 6+ months. Was able to take it outside and give it a bath. These are not my permanent tires. My son robbed my 33's to run in his until he does his frame swap.

So it was just the carb messing up or did resetting the timing help?

Johnny, it was the carb on the Blue 60. The Copper one is the one you and I discussed the other week. Everything seems to be good less a small hesitation in mid RPM range. Been running it with the choke out 2 clicks timing is good (7 degrees) and vaccume is solid. I did change the plugs, cap and rotor. The old parts were very corroded. And the plugs were gapped between 36-80. My son drove it after that and said it ran a lot better

Well the sabbatical is over. I'm back on old blue. My plan was to finish painting the doors. They are actually on stands and I've been prepping them. The other thing I've been doing is the base lining of my youngest sons Copper 60. It has 340k and runs great. I've changed every seal and still had oil dripping. He's had his license for a week and I have been trying to get this thing tight. Unfortunately I tracked down the leak. Mainly it's oil dumping into the air cleaner :(. That and the fact I have positive pressure in the crank case I believe it's a ring issue. I'm no expert but have spent the day reading a lot of posts. The PCV valve is good as well. I checked the compression when I bought it and it averaged in the low 120's. I was hell bent on letting this one live. Regardless, McGuire is home in a week (spring break) and wanted to start fitting the 12HT into my rig. Since I have his old 2F in mine now (30k on the rebuild) it looks like I have a donor. Did not plan on this but looks like I'll be getting the blue one ready for the diesel. Also getting a new H55 since the 12HT technically has zero miles it just seems right.

Spent some time backtracking. The engine compartment is about done less a heater hose (or two), starter and a ground. Next move is to see if I can pull the motor and trans together. Have not done that before. If successful It will be easier removing the trans once out of the truck.

2F is out and will be going into my youngest sons 60 hopefully by tomorrow. Great thing about this motor is it will have been used by both my boys, me and their grandfather. Mcguires red 60 originally came from my father in law. MJ will be home Friday for spring break and the hope is we will get the 12HT tacked in place by the end of next week. Rebuilding the 38M T-case to go behind a new 5-speed (hopefully picking up on Monday). MJ is bringing home front and rear seals so we can redo the bottom end prior to install. I'm getting pretty excited about doing this one. This will be the last motor for this rig!
