Thanks Jim. CCOT sells 1.5 and 2.5 inch over stock. I plan to keep mine in the front stock or buy whichever ones level it out the best. I'm hoping for the 1.5 inch.

Careful, Jim, Claudia likes Skyjacker.

my Skyjackers have hit the rear spring mounts plenty of times - there are divets in the shackle hangers now (also have longer bumpstops now) - can't seem to find the pics, though

Fronts were ok?

IIRC, there are bumpstop spacers in the front on my truck, too

doesnt matter about the arch when there is no weight on the springs could be 20" off the ground but when weighted drops to a 1" lift. when in boubt buy new or take the stock springs and go soa.

longer bump stop can work but the root of the problem is the shackle length, so you get maximum flex and no inverted shackle

but if you drive only on paved road you can keep short shackle

Paved roads aren't the only ones in it's future. Hopefully I can use a longer shackle in the front. ~$80.00 from CCOT.

Any suggestions on bump stops. Mine are almost finished. One is missing the rubber. I have it in a box in the shop. Another one is completely MIA. The two remaining do not look so great. So just buying extentions won't cut it. I am not looking for OEM, just a cheap fix, if necessary.

i use some big poly bump stop and home made braket .
you need to flex your 40 to the limit without bump stop ,be careful and use a helper to tell you when to stop , you dont want your shock to bottom or tire contact on the wheel opening , next you measure the space between frame and axle , than fill this gap with a bump stop , take note that the stop will crush so you need to ad a little to the measur you take .

Jim

find a small ditch ,a ledge or ramp to to make your test , in the garage with a jack to lift a tire is not the best in my opinion

pic for you

Jim, where did you source those poly bumps. I like that setup.

X2 on real world tests

I like your spacers. I have used something similar in the past to lower a transfercase on a 1987 GMC Fullsize Jimmy. That thing looked cool, but major problems. Never going back to one of those. I still have dreams/nightmares about it.

Update:
The lift is installed. Still got to do some brake work. The bleed bolts are locked by rust and now they are rounded. But somehow I still managed to open the line because fluid comes out now. Anyway here are some after shots. Going to change the wheels and take off the spacers in the front.
