Hi

In the process of finalizing a gasket for the LVs rear boot handle and door handles.

We 3D scanned the actual Handle and the 4 outer door handles and have designed gaskets to replace the factory gaskets.

The final design will have the exact beveled look around the outside of the handle as the factory gasket.

After fitting the prints today minor adjustments are being made to make it as perfect as possible before we start producing them.

The idea will be the sell a set which will include the following :

3D printed Rear hatch handle gasket x1
3D printed outer door handles gasket x4
The outer doors handle gaskets are made up of two parts for each handle.

So in fact you will be receiving x9 gaskets in total.

Planning on doing runs of 20 sets at a time to bring the cost down.

Please have a look at the prototype which is white and will be in black when finished. I should have the final sample by Sunday next week which we will test fit and I will share pictures, material spec sheets and prices then.

You can count on me for two sets please.

So cool! Put me down for a set. What type of material is this by the way?

Waiting on the spec sheet from the company. The prototype is made using PA11. I’m still exploring material options.

Any idea how much $ they’ll run dor a set? I’ll take 2 or 3 sets most likely. The FJ28 uses the same door handles on the outside

Will know about costs soon. I’m sure we can do deals for people that want more than one set.

I'm interested in one set. It will be interesting to know what material you find that is flexible with good UV stability properties. Good info for future 3D printing projects.

Im in for a set.
Mike

Ok so I got the refined files printed and am happy with the fit and finish.

Next step is to send the files out to a few companies to get material options with the spec sheets.

I have been told by the company who did the designs and test print that this material is the best for the application I have in mind. But for peace of mind I will explore some other options so that we get the most suitable finish. I doubt very much that people will like to dismantle handles after a few months to replace the gaskets.

Here are some pictures.
