did some research and found that the secret ingredient for 33x9.50 is unicorn hide... explains why bf goodrich lists them as on ''back order'' and nobody else has them...
It was the war and the economy.
There are no plans by Michelin to put the BFG 33 9.50 15s MTs (KM 1 or 2) back into production and no immediate plans to start running the ATs again...according to my source... who works at the mothership in Greenville.
This brings me to my next question. What would be the next best thing to 33x9.5r15?? I want to keep my stock rims and just put 1.5" over stock extended shackles in the rear.... I want the tall/skinny look and readily available if not so much affordable tires.
I know what you mean. I wanted 33/9.50/15 a couple of years ago. No joy. I then decided to go with 33/10.50/15........there were 4 tires in Alabama, I'm in cali. 250 bucks shipping!!!! I finally decided on 31/10.50/15 I have a 2-2.5" lift. as far I know ,with stock steelies,I'm satisfied with the tires. I don't do any hard core wheelin'. My rig is mostly a hunting and exploration rig. I have gotten into terrain that I thought was out of my truck's ability and was stoked that it handled it.
I'm running 31x10.5x15 and were rubbing the fenders but since then replaced suspension with Old Man Emu, hopefully they will stop rubbing, my future plan is to mount 33s once the 31 wear out.

Nice! I have the OME 2" plus 2" shackle. I see you're running factory rims, those are 5.5 or 6" wide correct? Is there any issue running the 10.5 on a 6" rim? I was looking at purchasing some factory 6" and having them widened to 8" so it will give me more tire options.
There is only on manufacturer that makes the 9.5 tire and that is super swamper from what I can see, but going up to a 10.5 opens up a whole lot more options.
