The 33x9.5-15 BFG Mud Terrain tire seems to be pretty hard to find. What's the deal? Anybody know?

(edit: ) on a related note... do you that run this size tire find them to be squishy or sloppy on corners at highway speeds?

Yeah, I'm mad. Last fall when I bought my 71fj40 I drove almost 1000 miles to get it and it needed new meats to drive it home. I bought my tires at Les Schwab 31x10.5 SXT MT but I was hoping for 33's but they didn't have them "the don't make them". I was in a hurry, had to be back to work on monday, this being a saterday, so I bought them. The other day I was in Les Schwab here at home, and low and behold they have the 33's....Grrrr

Lovin' the turn signal and the tail lights for the older 40s. And now that I'm trying to come up to speed on the '82 emissions system, I'm loving the simplicity of the earlier ones too.

I'm thinking about going with the 33x9.5s and was wondering...I've heard one report of even the 9.5s rubbing the TREs. I've got 31x10.5 15s on them now without rubbing on the non-power steering on aftermarket wheels (i'm not sure of the width or exact backspacing, but I've definitely got a few mms to spare, but it looks like the TREs are mostly in the wheel). If I'm not rubbing on 10.5s, albeit 31s, is there any reason to think that 33x9.5s will rub? I can potentially see a problem when airing down. Is there a certain psi where steering rub becomes an issue? Also, I'm looking at spending $700+ for five tires. Is this the ballpark normal outlay for the 33x9.5s? Thanks, Taro

Connect: Those steelies are excellent. Do you remember/know what the backspace on your wheels is? Thanks and nice work.
