Hmmm I've been thinking since I read this thread I better test fit a 33x10.50/15 before I buy 4 of them online. I've never had a problem with the 9.50's. That extra 1/2 " should be ok but.... Thinking about the Dick Cepek Extreme Country.

So when you guys are running a tire that is roughly 33 x 10.5, what rim width do you recommend?

I currently have 15 inch steelies that are 7 inches wide. It appears for a lot of 33 x 10.5 tires that 7 inches is the skinniest rim width recommended by the manufacture.

I want to keep running steelies, but am I better off going with a wider rim?

That rim will work with a 33X10.50. I ran BFG KM2s that size on stock steelies and they did great.

I run a later 6" wide rim and use that tire size no problem.

33 x 10.5 BFG's on OEM wheels, done it many times including stock steelies. They look great and work fine.

Guys - If you are running the stock 2F 6 cylinder, with stock transfer case, 4.10/4.11 in the diffs, with 33 inch tires...what RPMs are you spinning around 55 or 60 mph?

Also, what is the stock transfer case gear ratio (1976 model if that matters)?

I've been reading all I can on the 33/10.50's as I will be buying new shoes for my '75 with 2F and 4.11 in the diffs. I need real life testimonials on how much difference there is from 31/10.50's to the 33''s. I do a fair amount of highway dri

ving to get to my hunting and camping spots, sometimes hauling a small trailer with a trail bike. I ran 32/11.50's for a couple of years and can't really tell any difference between those and the 31's. Is the lack of "power" enough to warrant keeping the 31's or should I join the 33 club? Hope this isn't considered a hijack but rather an expansion of the conversation. First pic is with the 32's second is with current 31's.

33's will be just fine. If you've been running 32's then you'll never notice any difference.

what is the production month?
i've been running narrow 33's forever....and am actually thinking about swapping the 4:11s for 3:70s.
i run narrow 33s on a 60 also....it does just fine with the 2F/4spd/3:70s.
